  • "Excellent accommodation in a great location."

Fantastic coffee shop and Italian Restaurant directly below. Only minor quibble was the TV wasn’t really “smart” but wouldn’t stop us re booking. Only a short walk into town and, if you have a dog, very close to a beautiful park with river. Owners very helpful and responsive.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable stay at Baystones. We will take a look at the listing to ensure that it is up to date. We hope to welcome you again. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

Spacious and well decorated. Well equipped. Only downsides access via dark back ally and slippery metal stairs

Fully equipped with all you need. Had a rather rainy stay but there’s plenty of board games to pass away the hours.

  • "Excellent kitchen equipment and plenty of everything ."

Cosy home from home but the entrance is not recommended for older generation or young children .Unfortunately we left a parcel at the property and although I reported it same day we left it seems to have disappeared. This was a long box containing a Xmas decoration I purchased in Keswick. So disappointed that housekeeping team did not report it .Telephone conversation with Sykes not helpful and dismissed my case after one search. To be fair you would not miss the box because of its size. Really disappointed.

  • "Great property, only thing that let it down was poor bed frames in two of the rooms , these squeaked and creaked every time you moved ."

. Seems a small thing but as everything else was of a high standard the bed frames seemed like a cost saving. Would book again if we knew the beds had been fixed / replaced .. And an option for an extra key would be useful, as a family of five we didn’t always come and go at the same time extra key would have saved some logistical planning.

The location of the property in Keswick made up for the strange entrance.

  • "Having stayed at Baystones a number of times over the last 5 years,it is badly in need of a face-lift,the level of cleaning was dreadful,it is time the owner took a close look at there property, dripping taps, toilet overflow, grease and dirt on top of fridge, cooker hood, top of kitchen units, and dust and crumbs everywhere,2 hours later than normal for booking to aid extra cleaning due to covid which obviously didn't happen, sorry to be so negative as we have enjoyed a number of stays at Baystones and of course there is the 50% hike up in price,so all in all extremely disappointing, hope this gives the owner food for thought."

Property states dog friendly which is great, but there is no where to let dog out, eg garden, as it stated in email we received twice( in its own private grounds overlooking the Rusland valley). Although there is a lovely park a few mins walk away. Overall thoroughly enjoyable week in Keswick and the Lake District, loads of great pubs, shops and restaurants and market on a Saturday and Thursday. Definitely be coming back.
