The property

Set amidst the excitement of the popular Lake District town of Keswick, is this superbly-appointed Victorian property, Blencathra Cottage.

Situated across three floors, this spacious accommodation is perfect for a group of friends and families seeking to explore the surrounding majestic National Park, or simply a base to celebrate a special occasion.

The interior radiates a contemporary-style throughout, including the spacious sitting/dining room, where the plush furnishings are complemented by the tradition of a woodburning stove, a perfect place to gather together to unwind.

The charm of the property is continued into the well-equipped kitchen, where you can make full use of the appliances to rustle up a home-cooked meal, including a dishwasher for convenience.

Make your way up the staircase, where two bedrooms await, comprising of a super-king-size and a double bedroom which are served by a gleaming family bathroom.

Continuing up the staircase are a further two bedrooms, designed to ensure a flexible sleeping arrangement with its twin bedroom and further double bedroom, both sharing a shower room.

To the rear is a paved area with a garden bench where you can sit out in the evening with your pets.

Within striking distance of the property are a magnitude of amenities, spoiling you for choice, as well as a number of attractions including the famous Theatre by the Lake and the charming Pencil Museum.

If you fancy venturing further afield, head to Ullswater for a selection of watersport opportunities and surrounding it are a number of walks, boasting breath-taking scenery.

Other attractions within the surrounding area include Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse which is a superb opportunity to delve into the local history.

Blencathra Cottage is a wonderful escape to this part of the Lake District.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
