  • "The cottage is small but it was lovely for just the two of is ."

There is the pup across the road that is lovely to eat.or just to sit and have a drink. Bus stops outside the cottage so very convenient to go out and about. The cottage had most things you would need and we really enjoyed our stay there. We would go back again.

  • "Many thanks for the generous welcome pack of wine, biscuits, chocolates, milk, tea and coffee."

Our dog was not left out too with treats and a super blanket for her to lie on. The house is clean, cosy and comfortable. Extremely well equipped for self catering. Only 5 minutes walk to Fitz Park and straight out of the door to many lovely walks. Not too far out of the town and a Spar a couple of minutes away. I would highly recommend this house.

  • "The cleanliness was the main big issue which we contacted the owner about."

They suggested a spring clean on are last full day there which isn't practical, since we had a lot of are personal belongings inside. I didn't feel comfortable there with the appalling cleanliness mainly with the dust and cobwebs. The toilet rim was dirty also and the kitchen sink had black scum around the edge. We all felt cramped with our baby and not suitable for a family, it is a lot better for a couple only. We couldn't wait till we left to go back to a clean home. Even though it is dog friendly it should still be cleaned at an exceptional standard, since covid happening especially. We won't be going back and feel that we had over spent for what we had. However the facilities and the free wine and water was a nice gesture.

Many thanks for your feedback relating to your recent stay at Brigham Row cottage. You state you were unhappy with the cleanliness of the property and that you contacted the owner. The owner immediately offered to visit the property the following day to carry out a deep clean, which you promptly declined as your personal belongings were inside the property. Upon further investigation, it appears you did not make such contact until 7pm on day three of your four night stay. Had you contacted us sooner, we would have been only too happy to arrange for a housekeeper to visit the property. However, as your main concern was dust, and at the time you raised the issue with the owner you had been in the property for three days, it would be difficult to determine dust levels at the time you checked in. This would be the same for the toilet and sink. You state you felt cramped however the property is popular with families who give positive feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed the complimentary wine, water, chocolates and biscuits. Property Owner

  • "When we walked in on our arrival we were so pleasantly surprised."

The cottage had been trimmed up for xmas which we had not expected , it looked so cosy and inviting. It really set our xmas off to a great start. Then we found all the complimentary gifts. There was a bottle of bubbly candles, box of biscuits, box of chocolates kendall mint cake, scones and jam and as if that wasn't enough there was a little gift wrapped pouch of dog treats and a beautiful dog blanket for our dog molly. The cottage was warm and cosy and wasn't short of anything. It's conveniently located just a short walk into keswick and although at the side of a road and pub not noisy at all. All in all we had a great week and can't thank you enough. We will definitely recommend you and use you again. Thank you for a great xmas.

  • "To leave adequate room in the Living room area I would suggest that the wooden sea chest full of games is removed upstairs into a cupboard in the main bedroom where there is plenty of space as it is extremely awkward to sit at the table or to move it to allow room to sit down."

I did suggest this in the guest book at the cottage. Otherwise cottage fine.

  • "Very central location, just a short walk into Keswick town center."

Parking was a bit difficult but the Twa Dogs Inn across the road let us park in their car park. The welcome packs for my dog and her humans was a very thoughtful touch. The only thing I was a concerned (in case of fire) about was there was only one entrance/exit, otherwise the cottage itself was very well equipped for a comfortable stay.

  • "The parking out side us very bad."

I had ni where to park on arrival until a car moved. Its just a dead end very narrow lane way at front of cottage. The next day we went out in the car cane back and someone else parked there. There was no where to park again so i had to ask the pub next across the way if i could park there the rest of the time as the continued to be no spaces. This would put me off going back. Cottage was alot smaller than expected but ok for a couple of days. We found it to be very cold down stairs. We played board games on an evening on the floor as not enough room on the table and the floor was like ice, very cold and like a concrete type flooring, very uncomfortable. Apart from those issues it was an ok cottage. Over priced for what it is i think, but that i guess is the area.

The phone call to say the cottage was ready and we could collect the keys early if we wanted was so appreciated after a long drive, it was a lovely touch. The phone call to check everything was OK the day after arrival was also appreciated.

Nothing was forgotten I even had contact phone numbers and instructions where to collect/leave key should I be arriving/leaving out of office hours. The cottage was perfect.....spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, lovely little home touches placed around cottage. A warm inviting cottage after a long day walking.
