    “Our only observation is that whilst you say the garden is ‘shared’ you need to be explicit about the potential issues with neighbours.”

    We have rented a few houses from you in Keswick and the rather ‘assertive’ signs everywhere upon arrival is initially off putting. Some people may prefer a ‘private’ garden and do not necessarily appreciate local sensitivities until arrival which is too late if it doesn’t work for you. In our case it was fine and loved Catbells and would both recommend it and book again.

The property

Catbells is a large detached double glazed lakeland stone house, a short walk into the town centre of Keswick. The property is situated on a quiet residential road and would be ideal for families or friends wanting to discover the Lake District.

Catbells accommodation is roomy and modern with 2 first floor bedrooms; 1 double en-suite and 1 single bedroom that shares a bathroom.

Continuing to the second floor you will find a further double bedroom and 1 x single bedroom.

The ground floor accommodation offers an open plan lounge/diner that will seat all of your guests whilst enjoying a home cooked meal and a cosy wood burning stove, with luxurious furnishings that compliment the whole house, The kitchen has tasteful fixtures and fittings with all of the important appliances you will need.

There is a delightful shared garden with your own private seating area, a nice place to unwind with your pets.  Catbells is a fantastic house, perfect for exploring Keswick and Lake Derwentwater with it's wealth of shops, restaurants and pubs.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
