"Warm, cosy and well equipped."
Great to have a parking space and be so close to central Keswick and its facilities. A lovely space for relaxing with family and friends. It was mixed weather whilst we were away so it was lovely to come home to such a comfortable cottage and be able to dry our clothes and wash the dog!
"The property was perfect, very clean and had plenty of kitchenware felt like home from home."
"Cottage was was nicely decorated and in a great location."
Just a few improvements to be made though, some of the glasses weren't clean when we got them out to use and there were no condiments in the house such as salt and pepper so you literally need to take everything with you. Tiny washing up liquid left for a week, so we had to buy more as well. The sour note to leave on was that the cleaner was parked up wanting to get in at quarter past 9 when check out wasn't until 10. Not very good as we felt rushed and pressured to leave.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that you didn’t have our usual customer experience. Friar’s Roost is a self-catering property and as conscientious owners, we try to provide everything our guests will need. This includes a refreshment pack and kitchen starter pack to tide guests over when they first arrive. We have passed your feedback onto our management company and hope that we will see you again. "A lovely place to stay with proximity to the centre of Keswick."
Spacious, comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need. We enjoyed it !
"Nice house, bright and airy, comfy, and located in a quiet location only 5/10 mins away from the centre."
The dog shower is a great idea and was well used! The parking is quite tight but manageable Overall, a great place to stay to explore Keswick and the Lakes - would recommend and stay again.
"We have been coming to keswick for a weeks holiday ever year for the past 10 years and have stead in many different houses and found this a Lovely high end well equipped house in a great location 2 things to point out ."
There was loads of restrictions on our dog ,so we felt is was not really a dog freindy house . There was a small welcome cleaning pack but had to buy more cleaning products. However we had a nice relaxing stay .
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we’re so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. To ensure that the property remains as you state, “high end” and for the comfort of all our guests, we do not allow dogs upstairs nor to sit on the house furnishings. There is a dog friendly entrance and bespoke dog shower at the property. We look forward to seeing you and your furry friend in the future. Property Owner
"Really pleased with this property, we visit Keswick every year and this one stood out to us."
As a family of 4, with 1x Dog plus grandparents it had everything we needed. Especially loved the dog shower and utility room. Great for wet clothes and boot drying keeping all the mess in one place!
"Lovely house, kept in great condition."
Best water pressure in a shower I have ever experienced. Parking nearby was easy and location was great for walking into town. Will certainly look to book again
"This was the best accommodation we could have in Keswick."
Especially as it was wet. The back area with mini shower for dogs was a godsend. Excellent spec and beds really comfortable. We will go again as it suited us as grandparents and son with toddler. Highchair and cot available saved us taking ours Thankyou
"Property was great everything I needed was there."
No hesitation in recommending to others
"We had a fantastic stay at Friars Roost."
The house was immaculate and had everything we required. The dog shower was a massive bonus and the outside area was great for both adults and dogs.We would definitely recommend it and they even provided great weather,we will return.
"Fantastic house, clean, tidy and well presented."
Only a small garden but has parking and great location being only a short walk into town
"Very comfortable and well equipped property."
The kitchen in particular is very well appointed with everything one could wish for provided. We would certainly use Friar’s Roost again and recommend it to others.
"What a fabulous holiday cottage!"
Very clean, all mod cons, proper home from home. The weather was incredible and the location perfect. We really enjoyed the walk through Fitz park by the river into Keswick! Would highly recommend this holiday home and will be recommending. 5 ⭐️
"The cottage looked beautiful and was wonderfully equipped, we were blessed with good weather but equally a wet weather stay would’ve been equally enjoyable as there were plenty of amenities at the cottage."
"Overall the property was perfect."
It was spotlessly clean and attention to detail was really thought about. It was like a home from home. I would highly recommend and would definitely consider booking Friar's Roost again.
"Lovely property, really well stocked, clean and comfortable."
Loved the dog shower facility too. Great location close to Keswick. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
"Superb cottage with easy walking access to Keswick."
Wonderful artwork, selection of kitchen tools, fluffy towels and interior design style rooms. Very welcoming and spacious. Amazing family bathroom power shower! Secure, safe garden for dogs. Street parking not a problem on our sunny May weekend.
"We had a wonderful stay at Friar’s Roost."
The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped. The kitchen and living room in particular are beautifully decorated. It was ideal for a toddler as there’s a handy stair gate at the top of the stairs. The location is fabulous, just a short walk into town. We’ll definitely be coming back again! Thanks for the fabulous stay.
"The perfect holiday cottage located just a 10 minute walk from the main centre of Keswick."
Also an ideal location from which to access endless hiking routes. Out of season there is plenty of on road parking outside the property. Fully equipped cottage with everything you could want during your holiday as well as being warm, comfortable and cosy. The house lay out suited us well, bathrooms were spotless and beautifully presented, the kitchen and dining area were clean and modern with everything we needed to prep and cook. The living room had a lovely gas fire (ideal after a cold, wet day out hiking) and we could bring muddy dogs in via the utility room to be washed off in the dog shower! Genius idea! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Friar's roost and would definitely book again.
"A lovely, comfortable and extremely well set up property - home from home."
We wished we had booked two weeks! Everything we needed had been thought about by the owners and the utility entrance route was perfect when coming back from our long, muddy (!) walks.
"An excellent property close to the town centre, superbly equipped with everything we needed."
The entrance complete with doggy shower was invaluable during a rather soggy week. Clean, comfy and well presented can easily recommend for a great place to stay.
"Lovely, comfortable house with decor and furnishings of a high standard."
Great bathrooms with plentiful hot water, essential after a day on the fells. Dog shower and boot room an excellent addition too. Possibly, the cleanest holiday home we have ever stayed in. If you park anything other than a very small car in the private parking space, you are not able to close the gates. This was not a problem for us as we were able to park two cars right outside and never needed to move them as walking distance from both town and walks. Fabulous week, despite the weather. We would definitely return.
"Wonderful cottage with plenty of room."
Easy walking distance to Keswick and the lake. Ample free parking .
"The cottage was near to the town and local park to walk the dogs."
The cottage had all the facilities we needed. The enclosed entrance at the back door to dry off and leave our wet things behind, was much needed as it did rain everyday which we expected. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay and will definitely be booking this cottage again.
"Fantastic accommodations in the best location, the house felt like home the owner has put things in the house u would require in your own house."
Every room was done to a high standard and was decorated beautifully. Was a pleasure to stay there.
"Really lovely cottage."
Close to the town centre. No parking issues. Would definitely stay at Friar's Roost again
"A fantastic place, well finished and everything we needed, good location for Keswick town centre access."
Small garden but great for dog to use as secure and much outdoor space wasn’t needed due to tiring the dog around the lakes. Only one comment I would make is having the ability to open the lounge windows as these were secured with pins requiring Allen keys to open, appreciate it’s security but option would be nice. Overall brilliant experience and stay. Thanks
"Fantastic location, plenty of living space, the garden was essential with a dog and a toddler in tow."
Walking distance to the park and town was a real treat as was the welcome box. We had a fabulous time.
"A beautiful dog friendly cottage in a good location."
