  • "The house is comfortable and well equipped and in an excellent location."

Parking was difficult this year, quite oftenwe had to park the car streets away. The reason for the low score was due to the amount of mould on the bedroom walls - particularly the single bedroom behind the headboard. It did not look like this has been wiped down when cleaned. We stayed at Inglewood twice before this visit. Since the visit in February 2023 I cant say I could see any improvements. We had suggested a hand rail down the stairs as the existing hand rail is a bit wobbly. Would benefit from new pillows as the ones being used are a bit lumpy.

Thank you for staying at Inglewood and taking the time to provide feedback. The bedrooms are undergoing a deep clean and the mould treated. The additional hand rail on the stairs is on the list to do this year. For information since February 2023 the boiler has been replaced so that constant hot water is available for guests and the smoke alarm system upgraded. Property Owner

  • "We were a bit apprehensive about booking this as the external image was not what we would describe as a 'cottage' but an old terraced house in a housing estate."

However the property internally was excellent, nice and cosy, clean and with almost everything you may need provided. Wi-fi is excellent with no issues if you need it. Trying to find our way back from the town centre in the dark, through the many streets on the first night was hilarious and we should have taken more notice of our surroundings on setting off :-) Although parking is 'on-street' we had no problem in finding a space but not sure what this would be like in the busy season. We would have no issues whatsoever in recommending this property and would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback and your kind words. We are glad you had a good tour of Keswick on your first night! We are enjoyed the property and found it cosy in the recent incremental weather. We hope we can welcome you back in the future. Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "It was our first family holiday to the Lakes and we are so pleased we chose Inglewood to stay at."

The cottage was a perfect size for 4 adults, a teenager and a dog. The place was clean and welcoming and plenty of room for all of us. The cottage is a short walk, just over 5 minutes, from Keswick Town centre which was perfect for shopping and eating on an evening. Fitz Park is also 5 minutes walk from the cottage and was great to take the dog for a run and meet other dogs. Keswick itself is a great base to tour around the Lakes, windermere is about 45 minutes to an hour away and the big peaks of Ska Fel and Great Gable about the same. There are lovely walks around Derwent Water and I'd recommend the walk to Threlkeld along the old railway line. I would recommend staying at Inglewood as we all had a fabulous time. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and we would definitely book this cottage again.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Inglewood and hope you have the opportunity to return to Keswick for another holiday. Property Owner

It was a pleasant surpirse to find a new sofa and armchairs which were very comfortable. We dont recall thinking the old ones needed replacing. My only suggestion for improvements would be a handrail on the wall down the stairs. We are looking forward to our visit this New Year- and who knows maybe sooner as we really love Keswick and this house.

Did struggle with the TV remotes at first but got the hang of it. We didnt have any issues with the heating which a few reviews had mentioned. Perfect location for walking into Keswick. We were able to park ok - even with 2 cars. Only thing to report was the TV in the back bedroom, which mysteriously would switch on by itself. Would definitely consider staying here again if coming to Keswick- the only thing that would stop us is that more of the family want to come, so we will need a bigger house.

  • "The cottage was very good, clean and well kept."

We were exceptionally pleased with it at first. However we had a issue with the hot water and the heating. It transpires that the owners control it through “Hive” They schedule it to come on, when it goes off and how warm it is. For the most part we had little to no hot water and the same goes for the heating.’On the Saturday evening, there was only enough hot water for two showers, mine was completely cold, there was also no heating on at all. Sunday morning was the same too, no heating and no hot water!! Wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone at all, only because of the heating situation.

Thank you for your comments that the cottage was very good, clean and well kept. The heating and hot water are on programmed settings that are controlled through a HIVE on the wall of the main room. The temperature can be adjusted as desired and the hot water can be boasted or manually adjusted as required. Instructions for using the HIVE control are in the information at the cottage. Plenty of storage space for clothes. Kitchen was large and well equipped. Nice to see there was a small concrete enclosed area at the back of the property. Free parking was no problem outside the property. It was lovely to park up the car for a week, Easy walking distance to the beautiful town of Keswick. Had a lovely holiday walking in the park, around Derwent water and the shops (good market there Thursday and Saturday, Most places were dog friendly my husband calls it Dog city. Early leaving at 9 am is unusual as most places leave at ten. Although there was small sachets of milk, tea and coffee, it would have been a nice touch to have a bottle of milk in fridge and some biscuits. We have stayed at lots of properties and it is lovely to have a small welcoming pack. Would definitely come back again and have already recommended it to friends and family.

The kitchen is well equipped and massive although wasn't totally clean when we arrived. The dining/living room is big and airy, the TV is fine although the wifi is a little flaky at times. The bedrooms were OK, the blinds helped massively during the hot weather. Beds were clean and comfy. However. The NOISE whenever you turned a tap on or used the shower was horrendous, and the water heater/boiler would start its cycle very early in the morning right below the main bedroom. That's the one thing that would prevent me from booking this property again. I saw others had highlighted this in the feedback as well.

Bath towels were a little on the small side but good quality. Fully equipped kitchen with great amenities there’s everything you need n more. 5 mins from town centre and a bonus taxi rank round the corner for my elderly mother who has arthritis in her legs. Davies taxis were very accommodating takin my mother into town even though it was only a short distance I highly recommend them great friendly service. The bathroom looks like it’s been refurbished as it doesn’t look the same as on the pictures. It’s very modern n trendy. There is a step up to the toilet now which my elderly mother struggled with even tho she can go up n downstairs very slowly she did not like getting up in the night to use the bathroom. There is a light under the mirror which you can leave on. This is not a criticism it’s just what we experienced. The bedrooms are very light with just a blind in the double bedroom n single and the sun shines in quite early. Overall a lovely stay n wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Everything you need is there. Very clean and felt like home from home. It is a short walk to the centre of Keswick and is in a nice quiet street. Looking forward to returning in the future. The only thing that could be improved is a different mattress on the single bed, it is very firm but this could just be personal choice. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.
