10 Customer Reviews

  • "Great location."

Only a few minutes walk into Keswick. Lovely spacious rooms and the 2 parking spaces were ideal. We loved the hot tub!

  • "Basics would be nice like salt and pepper, ad other essentials."

It’s a lot of money and not to have basics would be nice. Sadly a bit over priced for what it is, but location is great.

Apologies that in this instance, the basics were not met for you. I believe that has now been addressed. We have also dropped our pricing for future guests so we ensure our value for money is fair. Property Owner

  • "Lovely spacious lounge and dining area , well stocked clean property."

The only thing I would highlight is that the hot tub is in an open parking area for a hairdresser/another house/business so it would take quite confident people to use it! If a screen was put up that would help . It totally put my teens off .

Thanks for your great feedback Karen. There is a screen already in place for guests that pulls out from the wall. I think you may have missed it! Property Owner

  • "Excellent response from the owner, a few glitches."

Really close to Keswick town centre, room for 3 cars. Low ceilings, not great if you are tall, some of the photos give an inaccurate impression of ceiling height.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we appreciate your positive comments about the excellent response. Your feedback regarding the accuracy of the photos in representing the ceiling height is valuable, and we will review and update them accordingly to provide a more realistic portrayal for future guests. • "Lovely house, situated within easy walking distance to Keswick."

The host had left us a beautiful welcome hamper full of all sorts of goodies. The house has everything you need, we made Christmas dinner for 11 and had plenty of utensils, plates, pans ect. The kids loved the hot tub, parking for 3 cars! We were contacted by the host after arriving to make sure everything was ok, we even had a visit from a lovely lady to make sure we were settled in and knew how everything worked. Would definitely recommend this property and hopefully we will return for another visit at some point.

Thank you for the amazing review and compliments. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you with us again soon! Property Owner

  • "The property was very clean and well maintained."

It was comfortable but all en suites were too small. We were met by a number of local residents and businesses who were very suspicious of our behaviour and party members, what we were doing and where we were parking. It was obvious that previous lets by Sykes had been totally inappropriate for this property and location.

Hello Eric. Yes we apologize about that. We recently had several hen and stag bookings that were NOT authorized by us that caused some local upset. We have increased our guest screening protocols to ensure that this doesn't happen again. I'm pleased that you liked the house and the lovely surroundings. Rest assured that since we have had more stringent guest screening, the local concerns have died away and this should not be an issue for future guests staying with us. Phil Property Owner

  • "Great location, beautiful cottage, clean and tidy."

However, we were hasseled non -stop by automated messages and phone calls threatening us with regards to noice levels. We had four young children, (two four year olds, seven and ten), who went in the hot tub with and adult on the first day, early evening, they were excited and made low level noice. The continuous messages and calls really distressed me as the company threatened us with removal from the property and charges. The children were all in bed and fast asleep by 8:30pm We really felt this was totally out of order and an invasion of our privacy and rights. Later on that evening the adults sat outside as it was lovely weather. Once again I was bombarded with messages and automated calls. Having booked and paid a lot of money for this cottage I was extremely upset and it actually spoilt my stay there. We were spending time with family that we hadn't seen for a long time so it was even more upsetting. The second night we went out for the day and most of the evening. Four adults came back with the children and put them to bed. We then sat in the lounge to chat and have a drink. Our older children stayed out. The messages and nasty calls started again! There was absolutely no noise. Everyone was in bed, most asleep by 1pm then we heard a loud bang on one of the windows at the front of the cottage then the door. A security guard was stood outside. We asked him if he could hear any noise and he said no, apologised and left. It is an understatement to say the least how extremely upset and anxious we were about even being in the cottage. I am also worried that money will be taken from my credit card as it was threatened. I have to say that our weekend was spoilt because of this.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We deeply regret any distress caused by the automated messages and calls regarding noise levels. This is not the standard we strive for, and we're investigating the issue to ensure it doesn't happen again. Your concerns are valid, and we appreciate your understanding. We hope to have the opportunity to make it up to you in the future. Property Owner

  • "This was a very spacious and welcoming base for our family stay."

The bedrooms were a good size, as was the living area, and we were really happy with the well-equipped kitchen. It's a big plus that there is free parking available for three cars, and the whole family loved the hot tub. We would be really happy if we were fortunate enough to stay here again.

Hello Ruth! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay and wanted to come back again. Cheers! All the best, UK-Breaks Property Owner

  • "Good service from owner prior to stay, called to confirm that they do have a hot tub and also provided some information on a local event that was taking place at the time of the stay Some very minor cosmetic issues but nothing that would affect the stay so decided did not need reporting, not everywhere is perfect!"

It is a shame that there is not much privacy around the back by the hot tub - understandable due to where the property is situated, however they have done a good job and the moveable screen did help us feel a bit more comfortable Would definitely recommend the property to anyone wanting to visit the Lake District. Keswick is a great place for walkers and this property would serve a large group well.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback, we are so glad you enjoyed yourself and hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "We were very happy with the property it is in a great location on the edge of the town just a couple of minutes walk away."

It was very clean, The beds are very comfortable and lovely bed linen. The property was well equipped with everything you need ( apart from a tin opener). We did have a little mix up with parking but got it sorted straight away. We were celebrating a 60th birthday so I contacted the owner to see if they could arrange some banners/ balloons and I have to say it was no problem so I’d like to thank them for that. Our party of 10 all said they would definitely return and would recommend it to others!!

Thanks for your great feedback Susan! We'd love you have you with us again You are welcome anytime. Phil Property Owner
