  • "Really clean, excellent location, kitchen had everything we needed, good wifi."

Would prefer to colect keys at the property rather than lettings office. Would definately stay here again

  • "Having stayed in this apartment three times in the last five or six years I can say that its major benefit is its location right in the middle of Keswick in a quiet courtyard with a designated parking space and that is what earns it 4 stars out of 5."

It is comfortable enough for two people although I guess it could be a bit of a squash for more than two and it could certainly do with some updating - the kitchen is old and worn out, the bathroom is dated and much of the furniture was past its best when we first stayed here. I would suggest a complete refurb.

  • "The twin mattresses were REALLY uncomfortable."

I could feel the spings digging in me. Luckily i found a spare quilt in the cupboard that i folded up & put on the mattress. It still wasn’t great & they both need to be replaced.

  • "All furniture old and shabby and stained."

No handset for Dvd and unable to open book shelves. The appt was very clean and well equipped. Towels, bedding all good standard.

Thank for you taking the time to provide a review. We take all feedback on board. We have replaced many items in the property over the last few years. We undertook a detailed inspection of the property before the start of the season and will do so again at the end to check what may need to be replaced to meet guest expectations but doing this in an environmentally responsible way. • "This flat makes a lovely base for staying I."

Keswick and exploring the Lake District. Would be useful to be offered an extra key on collection as only having a single key makes things difficult if more than one person is staying. Thanks!

  • "The email updates and information provided about the property and how to find it were excellent."

The apartment was as described and is located in a perfect position just on the edge of the main shopping area of Keswick. It also has the added bonus of a personal parking space.

  • "A very neat and compact apartment and ideal location for walking in Keswick and the surrounding area."

Also, excellent location for walking into Keswick to visit the many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Apartment was on 2nd / top floor so it requires several trips from the parking space outside to the apartment when unloading and loading the car, so I recommend packing smaller and lighter suitcases rather than one large suite case. The apartment has everything required, but if I had to suggest one thing, it would a towel rails in the bathroom for the hand towel and bath towels and also somewhere to hang the tea towel and hand towel in the kitchen.

  • "No rubber bathmat in the bath/shower - would have liked one."

We were on the top floor with no lift - which wasn't good after a long day out. The accomodation was good and as described - very nicely laid out and furnished with everything you could want/need. It was very near to the town centre - as advertised and was only a few minutes walk to all the shops / ameneties - bus station included. Overall a good experience and I would use Sykes Cottages again.

  • "The position of the apartments in Keswick was second to none - just behind the Main Street, with everything Keswick has to offer within walking distance."

The private parking was an added bonus. The apartment was extremely clean and tidy, modern and bright and felt very homely with just the right amount of decor. Lots of books to borrow to read in the evenings and a games cupboard! There was plenty of hot water and the storage heaters meant that the apartment was lovely and toasty on our return from a long day's hiking. We were on the 2nd floor with lovely mountain views from the balcony approaching the apartment and it was very very quiet which was perfect. It was a very secure complex and as such, we were able to leave our outdoor clothes outside the front door on the clothes horse (provided) in order to dry out before the next day's walking trip. An absolutely perfect location and we will definitely return - ideally to the same apartment. If there was one slight negative, it was that the beds were a little bouncy so the double felt a little like a trampoline! (I think we only felt this as we are used to a softer bed at home) but it did certainly not detract from our lovely stay.

Brilliant location just off main street, but quiet, and a dedicated parking space.

  • "Nice little apartment in an excellent location."

On second floor so a few stairs to climb. Tiny kitchen if 4 people, but we ate out every night so not an issue. Able to leave car at the apartment and several walks on door step. Bus station within walking distant if don’t want to use the car. Literally next door to a Co Op and across the road from Booths for provisions. In town centre but reasonably quiet and therefore lots of places to eat on the doorstep. Didn’t mention that washing up liquid etc was provided so nice surprise. Also welcome pack with sachets of tea coffee etc. Would definitely use again if in Keswick

  • "Bathroom shower unit is normally above the mixer taps and not on the the other end of the bath, anyone using the shower could easily slip at that end of the bath."

The car parking location numbers are not in numerical order which can cause problems and a few location numbers are loose. Terry

  • "There were 3 night storage heaters but only 2 were working, hence the bedroom and the hall were cold."

Its also very noisy when we run the bath (also when next door run their bath ), the loud noise was quite annoying at times and we also stop having baths ourselves. Otherwise, its a nice comfortable apartment in a very convenient location.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We understand from :Lakes Cottage Holidays that the storage heaters were working, it is just that they are designed to store heat during the night and release it during the day rather than provide instant heat. There are additional heaters in the property that are provided for this. We have asked a plumber to investigate the issue you raised about noisy pipes'. Property Owner
