  • "We had a lovely 1 week stay in Latrigg Lodge."

The cottage itself was very clean, and welcoming. Kitchen generally well stocked with most things you'd need. The only negative would be the TV reception is poor, so could maybe do with a better Ariel. However, as we brought along our Amazon stick, this wasn't really an issue for us. But may be an issue for some. Ideally located just outside of Keswick, there are some fantastic walks literally on your doorstep. And when you're staying in Latrigg Lodge, it'd be rude not to walk up Latrigg itself, and take in the breath taking views. We have stayed in quite a few different cottages in Burnside park over the years, and would happily rebook to stay in Latrigg Lodge again.

  • "The lodge was in a pleasant position with views over the fells but there was a lot of traffic noise from the A66."

It had all the facilities required and suited our needs but was not as clean as it could have been. The bathroom floors, table top, room corners , windows etc had all been missed. Also there was no recycle bin and it was suggested we take our recycling home with us.

Thank you for your feedback. The owners are very sad to hear the cleaning was not up to the usual standard and have reported this to the Cleaner Manager for action. There have been no concerns regarding the traffic noise in previous years but it appears that all UK roads to holiday locations are busier this year with restrictions for travelling abroad. We are glad you were still able to enjoy the pleasant views of the fells from the deck. The owners have spoken several times to the site owner about putting in recycle facilities but he has not done this yet. The cleaners are not able to deal with recycling but there is advice where there are facilities in town. We are glad that being unable to visit the recycle facilities in town, you were conscientious enough to take your recycling home, helping the Lakes stay beautiful. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was fine, well equipped and comfortable."

There was a problem with a reliable supply of hot water as it wasn’t very hot. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the location of the park, being right next to the roundabout and a busy road, so not very peaceful given we were in the Lake District. In view of this we wouldn’t choose to stay at this particular park again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are able to advise the water heater is on a timer, so you need to put on the boost for extra hot water and then you will have all you need. The park is just north of Keswick off the A66. It has the convenience of 2 parking spaces which are at a premium in town and is just a short walk in . The main view from the living room and deck is of fields and fells. We are glad you had a comfortable stay. Property Owner

  • "We COULD walk into Keswick!"

Taking very great care going round the roundabout taking the A66 north etc. We did not find the noise of the road a problem but in summer on the balcony, it might be noisy. Two light bulbs had gone when we arrived. We should have reported this as another went when we were there. Sorry we did not report this. We were so pleased to find anywhere at the late stage we tried, that we took the lodge for 6 although we were only 2. This meant we had SO much room and that was lovely. Another time we would find a smaller lodge for less money. We would stay on that site again What did you enjoy most about your stay? Being outside, the scenery at this time of year, walking in Forests. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Mirehouse was lovely. The house was shut, but we picnicked by the Lake. The church was lovely to visit.

  • "We had a really lovely week at Latrigg Lodge."

Beautiful lodge, really warm comfortable and very well equipped. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it too. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Everything What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Crummock Water and Pheasant pub

  • "We found the lodge exceptionally clean and well presented."

The key lock worked well. The lodge had all the equipment required for a very pleasant stay, the fire stick we took with us worked very well with the provided Wi-Fi. We had good views up the valley and were welcomed by robins, pheasant, rabbit and a heron. The shower worked well although it was best to only use one of the two at a time. The walk to Keswick to between 15 and 20 minutes depending which of the routes you took. A shout out to both the Pheasant Inn and the Filling Station (especially if you like motor bikes), great for tea, coffee, beer and meals. We will return in the future. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Not requiring a car for all the activities we had planned. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? A walk around Derwent Water.

  • "We stayed at Latrigg Lodge for a week."

It was spotlessly clean and in good condition. The location is really good for reaching the northern lakes and you can walk into Keswick (although we didn't). The site is small and quiet with no facilities and that suited us. The views from the deck are lovely. There are several good places to eat within short drive or extended walk. You can also walk the fells relatively nearby, as well as the stone circle. The only things we would recommend improvement of are a second non slip shower mat so there is one in each bathroom..There was a small torch in the cupboard and we tied this to the keyring so there was a nightlight but also because the key can fall between the gaps in the deck of you drop it. We chose this lodge to take my mother away after she had been in isolation for 5 months and it was a perfect choice. We would highly recommend and would happily return. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Views from deck, 2 bathrooms, dishwasher. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Sunday lunch a Lodore Falls Hotel. Fantastic value and excellent service in a beautiful setting.

  • "We had such a lovely family holiday at Latrigg."

The park was in an excellent location and the views from the park are stunning. On arrival at the lodge we were impressed by the cleanliness and the facilities that had been made available to guests staying. We will definitely be returning. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Location and views. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Dodd Wood - we walked to the summit with our 3 young kids. Really enjoyable walk and amazing views from the top.

  • "Great place to stay with lovely small veranda looking out across fields to hills."

Easy to walk into Keswick. Easy to walk out into the hills. Nice lodge, good wi-fi, fairly well-equipped. Kitchen equipment seemed a little on the relatively sparse side. A light on the driveway nearby does rather shine into the main bedroom at night and the curtains are very thin. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Proximity to Keswick What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk up Latrigg

  • "We like this end of the Lakes as it gives a much better feeling of beauty and peace in the area."

The Lodge is ideal as a centre to explore the Northern end of the Lake District, especially the Honister Pass and associated Bassenthwaite and Crummock water. Going up to the North western end of Cumbria ant Silloth shows the change of scenery that Cumbria can give to those who leave the usual areas to explore further. We chose to stay at Burnside park because of the location, only 10 min walk into town and also having the luxury of a lodge rather than staying in a hotel. The lodge itself was great, very tidy lots of room and nice to be able to sit out on the veranda on an evening. Would recommend 100% and hopefully we will be back in the not to distant future. Beds were comfortable, our children enjoyed playing on their bikes in the holiday park. Good location when we needed to get into Keswick and great for Derwent Water, there is also a lovely little pub at the other side of the roundabout. • "A nice lodge on a good site with fabulous views, although there are no facilities on site,Keswick is a 15minute walk either on the road which takes you to Booths and the Coop supermarkets or through Fitz Park along the river Greta to the town centre."

The lodge is well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The Filling Station cafe for breakfast and the Pheasant Inn for dinner are a few minutes walk away across the roundabout, but do book at the Pheasant as it gets very busy. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Quiet site but near to Keswick, and the fabulous weather. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? The park itself is very quiet,no reception,no clubhouse and no shop,it is about a 25 minute walk into Keswick,There is a bus stop about 200yds away or a local taxi firm [davies taxis] which are very reliable the cost between What did you enjoy most about your stay? Mrs Maureen RossJun 2019

  • "Stayed here for a week with 4 children."

The site is in a great location and very quiet. We arrived to find the fridge/freezer turned off and defrosted but managed to get ahold of the contact straight away and they helped us locate the switch. It was a little frustrating as we had food for 6 of us for the week but luckily nothing was wasted! It's worth noting the freezer space is very small. Other than that we had a comfortable stay. We were out most of the day but the DVD collection and games provided plenty entrainment in the evenings. Only improvement would be black out curtains as with small children in the summer they are up early! We improvised with the spare blankets from the wardrobes. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location and quiet What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? West castle and Keswick market

  • "Stayed for a long weekend with family."

Everything was perfect including the weather. Views are spectacular. Loved sitting out on the veranda watching the lambs leaping about in the fields. Nice walk into town along the river in Fitz Park. Had dinner one night at The Pheasant which was lovely. Walked up Latrigg one day and had a walk down to Derwent Water. Great not having to take the car out. Just loved the lodge so clean and comfortable. 3 nights was not enough would love to have stayed a week! We will return What did you enjoy most about your stay? • "We came to stay for 3 nights, with 3 kids."

The booking process was simple and the pre-arrival instructions were timely and helpful. On arrival the lodge was by far one of the best we have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, with all the possibly utensils and gadgets you could need for you stay (far more than we had anticipated!) The girls loved their own bedroom and the travel cot for the littlest fitted into the main bedroom with room the spare. Can not fault the condition and comfort of the lodge and it was lovely to come back to after a long day. Highly recommended to those thinking of booking and we hope to return again soon. Thank you! • "Firstly we couldn't get in to the lodge with the code that was sent we had to ring for a different code to access the lodge."

Once in there was only row towels for five guests so we had to ring again and get someone to bring some more towels. We felt that the lodge needed to have a bigger fridge to store food for the group and more plates etc as we had to keep washing them to you again for same meals. Also to make people aware that if someone has used the shower others need to wait a while otherwise the water is cold. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walks were good

    Mrs Katrina AgnewOct 2018

  • "Really enjoyed our stay in Latrigg lodge - even the weather was good!"

The lodge itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is ideally situated for trips into Keswick and for walking. Only disappointment that a visit to the nearby Pheasant staff, which had received rave reviews in the lodge visitor book, was spoilt by rude staff. Will avoid if we visit again. Overall excellent. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Convenient location of lodge. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk up Cat Bells and trip across Derwent Water by the launch to start/finish points.
