  • "We enjoyed our stay."

The cottage is in a great location. 2 mins walk to the town but in a very peaceful location. So quiet at night. As mentioned previously the car park space does only fit one car & the wi-fi is very slow. The kitchen steps are very steep but we had got used to them by the end of the week. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "Fantastic location!"

Only minutes walk from Town Centre and all the Restaurants Pubs Bars Cafes and the local cinema. Also not far from Hope Park and the lakeside. Surprisingly the cottage is in a very quiet street. Hardly any traffic passed by. Parking for two cars at rear of property. However it would be a tight squeeze with two cars. Comfortable lounge large TV and rest of cottage as one would expect. The following comments were not particularly a problem for our stay, but may be relevant to others Absolutely abysmal Wi-Fi. The slowest I have ever used. Very steep stone steps leading from front dining room down to kitchen in basement. No handrail. Also stone steps from rear of property down to rear door of kitchen. People with mobility issues, or small children would struggle. I would not want to carry plates of food up those steps to the dining room. We ate in the kitchen. Anyone over 5foot 10 will bang their head on both doors into kitchen unless they duck Maintenance Issues The en-suite bathroom shower could not be used as the water control handle was broken. The shower door had come off its rail at the bottom. The toilet seat was not fixed securely and slid over to one side when sat on. The heated towel rail in the main bathroom was leaking from the on valve when turned on. Unable to use. We have reported these issues. However reading previous guest revues I noticed that several of these issues had already been brought to the attention of the owners but apparently ignored. Notwithstanding these issues we had a very pleasant stay and would stay again. If they sorted toe en-suite problems.

  • "We often book this week with you and were really spoilt last year in Plosh Cottage."

This was a disappointment as I am 78 years of age and after a lot of chemotherapy, not as agile as I was. I had great difficulty with the stairs to the kitchen. I couldn't carry anything up, as I needed both hands to grab hold of the walls. A bannister rail, or 2, would have made a huge difference. I was particularly frightened going down, as with neuropathy in my feet I stumble. When we arrived the lever for the shower in the ensuite was on the shower tray and we had to fit it back on to move, every time we had a shower. The location. was great and the cottage was clean, but a couple of adjustments would be a big help. The description of parking "for 2 cars" was incorrect, it would be impossible to get more than one car in the space provided

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to hear that you found the cottage to be clean. We take your feedback on board. We will ask our Maintenance Team to take a look at the shower, and we will look at the description to ensure that the information is correct. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, deceivingly spacious."

Very clean and well stocked of all essentials. Perfect central town location . Car parking awkward, ideal for one car but a struggle for two, did manage it in the end. Maybe resurfacing area would help. This did not put us off booking a return visit.

  • "We found lillibet cottage to be very comfortable and enjoyed our stay very much."

Apart from 1 thing. The parking. We had read the description and reviews very carefully, were aware that there was space to park 2 cars and that it was on a slope. We were therefore shocked on arrival to discover that the description given was quite inaccurate. We have 2 small cars. A Ford focus and a BMW 1 series. The Ford focus parked with extreme difficulty due to the gradient and roughness of the ground. However the BMW could not be parked here due to the low front sill which was in danger of being damaged. Luckily we were able to find on street parking within a 5/10 minute walk as it was not during high season. This may not be acceptable to other guests with perhaps restricted mobility. I therefore feel that the website info in this connection is totally misleading.

  • "Excellent position for town centre, cottage was perfect for us (2 couples)."

Well equipped and comfortable. Only suggestion perhaps some form of rope or hand rail leading down to kitchen . Thank you for a great stay.

  • "This is a great cottage."

Clean and tidy and very comfortable. Worth every penny of the hire cost. I would certainly book it again. The cottage is literally two minutes walk from the centre of town. The parking space is steep and a bit small, particularly if you need to park an SUV. The internet connection was unreliable. Stairs down to the kitchen are steep.

  • "A wonderful week spent in Keswick on the hottest week of the year."

Lillibet Cottage, stone built, was lovely and cool. Everything we needed was available. It was noted in the details about the difficult stairs down to the kitchen and also awkward stools in the kitchen. Definitely not suitable for senior citizens, but we managed.

  • "Lovely stay in Lillibet cottage."

Clean and very well equipped. Quirky layout; kitchen down steep steps into basement but with a window and as described on website. Wonderful position: minutes from the Moot Hall but lovely and quiet. Great views of the fells and the parking space was excellent as parking on street is difficult in peak times.

  • "A very nice property which was very comfortable and centrally located."

We found it easy to find and clean and tidy on arrival. It took a while to warm up but was cosy and warm. Beds and the sofa were very comfortable and we slept well. The stairs up and down are tricky if you have mobility problems but this was highlighted in the property details. Parking is a bit difficult as on a cobbled slope, but manageable. We enjoyed are stay.

  • "Very disappointed with the lack of general cleanliness."

Generally dusty. Mattress and pillows stained under protectors. No toiletries or basics like cling film, kitchen roll or even a pint of milk in the fridge. Lovely position however. No outside chairs as listed but fortunately we had taken our own. Car park space only suitable for one car not two as stated. Red letters on sideboard from power company! Not really what you want to see. We did like the cottage and loved Keswick but standards need sharpening up!
