The property

Mounsey Cottage is a ground floor apartment in the very heart of Keswick.

Part of a Victorian villa, this nicely converted flat offers affordable accommodation for two people in the Lake District.

Just minutes from all amenities, Mounsey Cottage would make an ideal base for an adventurous outdoorsy couple looking to walk and cycle in the fells, or a couple who may have issues with stairs and simply want to recharge their batteries in this lovely part of the world.

Whatever the time of year, this ground floor apartment is a real home away from home. In through the front door, you'll find yourself in a light and airy living room with a dining area, plus a feature fireplace with an open fire and some fabulous art works inspired by the surrounding fells.

There's a modern kitchen that's well equipped for all your culinary needs, and a cosy double bedroom, plus a modern bathroom with D-shaped bathtub, separate shower cubicle, vanity unit and WC. There's a small gravelled courtyard outside with garden furniture, just right for enjoying a balmy summer evening.

On street parking is available at the apartment, and you can leave your car and walk to all major amenities, including the main street and the banks of Derwentwater. Keswick is jam packed with things to see and do, from the climbing wall to the cookery school.

The scenery of the lesser known Western Lakes around Buttermere is well worth a visit, while the Theatre by the Lake and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park will appeal to everyone.

Helvellyn, Catbells and Skiddaw are just some of the majestic fells that are easily accessed from Mounsey Cottage. Across the scenic Kirkstone pass and into the South Lakes you'll find Windermere and Ambleside, where you'll discover Beatrix Potter country, and don't miss a trip around the islands of Swallows and Amazons on one of the famous Windermere steamers.

Historic Carlisle, with its castle and cathedral, is less than an hour's drive away, and beyond that there's Hadrian's Wall.

For great shopping, restaurants and bars, don't miss lively Penrith, with its cinema and swimming pool. With so much to see and enjoy on the doorstep, Mounsey Cottage is a great base when you require affordable and comfortable accommodation in the Lake District at any time of year.
