Having two parking spots in the centre of Keswick was exceptionally useful. Such a lovely, comfortable place to stay. It was the perfect location and opportunity for two couples to meet up to walk together and explore the area. In spite of the weather, we had a completely brilliant week and a big factor in this was Roselea itself.

It is so convenient for all the amenities in Keswick and we were very impressed in the way the Holiday Company and Owner kept in touch with us, firstly to see that we had settled in on arrival and secondly to deal with a minor problem with keys. There are so many wonderful places to visit in The Northern Lakes and Derwent Water itself is a delight. Plenty of places to eat in Keswick and there is a great market in the centre every Saturday and Thursday. Thank you Emma for all the little Easter treats you left for us and also the Prosecco which was very much appreciated. Hopefully we will be back in the not too distant future and thoroughly recommend staying at Roselea. Thank you again.

  • "This was our second stay at Roselea and the standards seem to have slipped slightly: whilst sleeping six there were only three wine glasses in the cottage."

We went into the office in Keswick and the staff member said she would email the owner straight away and get some more glasses to us. None came while we were there. We subsequently found there were only five dinner plates. The bed in the top floor bedroom was very uncomfortable as the mattress had a delve in the middle. The downstairs floor appeared to only have had superficial cleaning, round the edges and underneath the side tables was still dusty. On a positive note I would like to express that none of the above detracted from our enjoyment of our holiday. The cottage is in a great location and has the added benefit of two parking spaces. House is well decorated and furnished with great bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and high quality bed linen. Just a couple of observations.....there wasn't a free cupboard in the kitchen to store our food. Maybe the addition of some shelves in the kitchen would free up some cupboard space. The large bedroom on the first floor would benefit from a chest of drawers as there was only a wardrobe. Would highly recommend this property for a comfortable stay.

We were very comfortable throughout, what a wonderful stay! We've definitely found our favourite cottage in Keswick and will be back, hopefully again and again! Slight con: the communal grassy area out back seems to have become a dog toilet, despite signs prohibiting this, with people taking their dogs there to do their business. The location is ideal for the centre of Keswick. A few things that would have made it better / make it unlikely that we would go back: 1. Parking - really difficult to get parked on the street. When we arrived we ended up blocking the road and unloading all our things into front yard whilst being beeped. 2. All double beds in the house, the kids fight in a double bed so we had to spilt them up. Would ensure next time we choose a property with option of single beds for them 3. Only 6 knives, cups, bowls etc. Meant you had to wash up after every meal. Felt a little stingy especially given how much we paid for 4 nights (half term so high season) 4. Recycling - rather complicated system in operation in Keswick with alternate week recycling collection with paper having to go in a separate bin and plastic/ glass in a purple bag. We could only find a general bin and no paper bin nor recycling bags - a neighbour explained the system and also that the collection was delayed as it was a bank holiday week - a few extra lines in the welcome information to explain the process would have helped us. Overall we had a great holiday and hope the feedback is useful to help make Roselea even better than it is.

House was beautifully decorated, and newly refurbished. A few things missing that could have made the stay 100% perfect. Such as drinking glasses or pint glasses for beer. A shoe rack for muddy boots in the hallway would be a good addition too. Other than that, a truly enjoyable stay and a beautiful property.
