Perfect location in Keswick - 5 min walk to town centre. Amazing views from back windows and garden . Front windows good views too . Whitbeck was booked through Sykes Cottages who we have used before . The house is very roomy and spacious for 6 people with a good sized drive and rear garden . The 2 Large doubles were roomy and spacious but the 3rd was a very small double !! The brief should explain this as you could just squeeze around the bed . No mirror , no wardrobe , just drawers - not big enough I’m afraid especially compared to the other two . The bathrooms had excellent showers and was clean . The bedrooms were cleaned Ok but had cobwebs in corners ! The hallway is spacious and the sun room very comfortable and clean . Unfortunately the kitchen was NOT cleaned to Covid standards ! The fridge / freezer was awful with the drawers being dirty with dry cheese etc left in bottom . The dishwasher filter was completely filled with spaghetti and other food debris . ( photos available ) . The whole house did not smell clean and fresh sadly on arrival. . There is no clothes airer , no tumble dryer and no pegs for small washing line - Not Good Enough!! After a wet day with 6 adults no where to dry anything ! No bin liners for kitchen big or bedroom bins - I’ve never or been self catering without this being provided . No hand towels for bathrooms but did take my own Luckily . Good accommodation in a great location but the cleaning was NOT Covid recommended . Sadly won’t stay again but if you do just be aware of my comments . Hope this helps Sykes Cottages please make note.
