  • "A perfect base from town and the surrounding natural beauty."

The house and particularly kitchen, came with everything you needed to enjoy a family holiday. The washer/dryer and off road parking space was essential. The only two things I would change would be we couldn't all sit at the same table. A table for six in a house made for eight. And also there were no baby facilities, high chair and travel cot. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would absolutely visit again. Many thanks

  • "The cottage is well situated close to the centre of Keswick."

We were a party of 4 adults and 4 children with 2 dogs (one medium and one small) and found the downstairs accommodation cramped and the kitchen lacking some necessary utensils/equipment needed for cooking. There was limited space for drying walking boots and coats- not a walkers cottage! The living room is long and narrow which meant sitting around either the fire or TV as a group of 4 adults was difficult. The upstairs was spacious and comfortable. The garden area is just a courtyard and not enclosed. All in all we have stayed in better accommodation within keswick. No doubt the property would be more suitable to a smaller group. We still had a fantastic time being in the Lake District as we always do!

  • "Lovely large property have been many times."

Good for large families. Ideal location with short walk to centre of keswick. Had problem with door lock but this was soon sorted out. Parking space for one car. Need up to date rubbish calender we put cardboard bin out but this wasn't collected it was full on our arrival. Need door mat near back door as wooden floor became slippery due to wet weather. No key to front door back door x2 only entrance. One of the back doors sticking due to weather. The carpets on the stairs and bedrooms are looking dirty. And the rug in the front room. The kitchen wasn't as well equipped as previous visits.

  • "Wordsworth house is in a great location to explore Keswick and has great space to absorb 8 people."

The house was very clean and the 3 bathrooms were great - good showers. With a few changes the property could be enhanced eg more kitchenware eg ladle, more pans, different duvets, curtains. Also it should be made clear, the garden is a drive way that has two openings so not enclosed.

  • "Things that could be improved: We arrived on Friday the bin was nearly full and wasn’t to be collected until Tuesday."

Some handsoap, and a hairdryer would have been useful. Welcome manual needs updating (wrong wifi code, old bin timetable & oven instructions). we didn’t realise the freezer had been turned on the lowest setting so all the food we bought was ruined by the time we realised (soaked & defrosted, it was actually warmer than the fridge) 9am check out time for a family was a rush. We chose it as from description it sounded like it had a yard for the dogs, however it was an open driveway, so dogs always needed to go on leads & walked round the block to toilet. Good points, great location, attractive property, good amount of space, lots of toilets & tvs, lovely big kitchen and oven

  • "The parking space was really useful, saved us a lot of petrol cruising round looking for one."

The 4 toilets were very handy as were 2 shower rooms plus bathroom always plenty of hot water! The kitchen/diner was a lovely space but could do with more basic tools. Luckily I had brought a bun baking tray for the Yorkshire puddings, there wasn’t a hand whisk (or a hand held one) could have done with another pan. One of the ovens didn’t work on the cooker. All in all it was a thumbs up for the house, it was great to have views of all the surrounding mountains especially from the second floor. The grandchildren, son and I would return here again.

Had one of the best holidays.

  • "The house is spacious and well located."

The kitchen lacked sufficient large pots and pans to cater for the size of the property & the tap needed repairing on arrival. As others have commented, the house was not as clean as it should be on arrival with dog hairs evident in the main living areas, and previous occupants’ toys under the sofa - as everyone is asked to leave early for covid cleaning we expected it would have been vacuumed properly & mopped. Otherwise a very comfortable and enjoyable stay here.

  • "The welcome book, with useful info, is out of date."

It contains a bin collection calendar from 2018 and an old WiFi password. There's also no info about when the recycling is collected, only that all refuse should be put in the red topped bin. There's a leak in the shower try in the ensuite on the middle floor, in the front corner under the sink. The shower screen in the main bathroom is loose, so doesn't stop the water. Other than that, all good.

  • "A warm, large but cosy, and great house for 5 adults - would be perfect for larger party too."

Kitchen large and very clean, with everything provided. Very sociable room. Sitting room long yes, but cosy down the end with the wood burner (May have been a good thing if there were a few logs to start us off with..) Bedrooms super comfy and lovely with the best view of our favourite mountains! Shower pressure perfect in all showers and bath in large main bathroom great after a long walk! A quiet street, just 15 min walk to the lakeside and 6/7mins walk into Keswick. Thank you - 100% recommend this property and hope to be back one day.

Nice and clean and a good size for the family. The only issue we had was with the lack of internet connection. This problem was not resolved throughout our stay because no key was available to a locked cupboard where the router was. This did cause considerable inconvenience.

The house had everything that was listed in the brochure ,situated in a central location for all amenities ideal for families could not fault it the only thing I would say is it could do with a gate but apart from that the property met expectations

  • "We were really pleased with Wordsworth house."

Spotlessly clean. The only minor points l would make are that the 1st floor bedroom needs more storage. The bookcase is of poor quality and no chest of drawers. Beds without heavy frames would give a little more space. There's no bedside cabinet/shelves. A larger, wall mounted mirror would be useful as would a hairdryer. The furniture in the property is, generally, of high quality. Love the lights in the bathroom mirrors! The kitchen was well equipped...you don't have to wash up after each meal. The toliet flush is the main bathroom is inadequate. If you have a dog be aware that the outside space is not fully enclosed. Nothing spoilt our stay.

  • "This is a lovely modern conversion to a traditional house, The kitchen is spectacular, superbly equipped and with lots of natural light."

There were 8 adults in a our group and the house worked perfectly - a really warm, comfortable and sociable space. Keswick is a great little town within easy walking distance of the house and loads of interesting shops , pubs and restaurants. We arrived on Friday and didn't move our cars until Wednesday as there is so much walking to do from the house. Several of us even walked up Skiddaw (over 900m high) from the house. Parking was no issue and there is off road parking for 2 small cars. We can't wait to return.

  • "Generally very good and any reports were dealt with quickly apart from the last one when “someone”, no-one from our party, turned the hot water off so when we came back from our walk, some of us couldn’t have showers until the water heated up again."

The maintenance guy had been in that day so not sure if he did this. Am still waiting for a response.

Spacious and airy with every comfort of home . We all had lovely nights sleep , comfy beds with feather pillows just perfect .we were able to have a bathroom each and the water pressure from the shower was amazing , Lovely surprise was the bowl of complimentary teabags , coffee , drinking chocolate and biscuits ,just what we needed after our long drive. Had big enough parking space for two cars so no worry of trying to find a parking space on the road .i recommend this cottage 100% and we are hoping to return next year .

The water pressure in the showers were amazing, The only downside was the very lumpy mattresses on the two double beds, we didn’t use the single beds so don’t know if they had same problem. Can I also recommend providing an oven glove in the kitchen too.

  • "The house was really nice, great location well equipped clean and furnished well."

But the mattresses on the beds are cheap rubbish and the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in. I couldn’t stand the pain in my back after the first night so spent the rest of the week sleeping on the settee (which was very comfy) in my opinion they will not get repeat customers to this house because the beds let it down

For a home that sleeps 8 there is a severe lack of cooking utensils- not enough pans, many sharp knives are broken or not big enough to cut bread. There are also no laundry cleaning products, poor for a house that demands such a high price.
