  • "Lovely cottage attached to the main farmhouse, due to this it could be noisy, late night comings and goings clearly heard."

Really nice bedroom and bathroom but sitting area let the property down, uncomfortable sofas. Could use somewhere to hang coats and some sharp knives! Excellent location with ready access to some lovely walks. Really handy corner shop. Great base to access the fells and several amazing bodies of water. Really poor parking facilities, tight spaces not suitable for a bigger car.

  • "Excellent location for walking."

Apartment was clean and comfortable. The bedroom was fabulous. Overall the property was spacious. Initially, we had limited crockery but after asking one of the staff for a salad bowl and a larger Cafetiere everything was promptly provided. A very enjoyable week.

  • "Property was easily accessed, clean, comfortable and well equipped."

Furnished to a high standard. It would have been handy to have somewhere to hang jackets up. Thoroughly enjoyable holiday!

  • "Pleasant stay in nice cottage in a beautiful village and area, a small welcoming pack would have been appreciated, few tea bags small milk etc."

just to tide you over until you found the shop which is actually very close. parking can be tricky when more than 1 car arrives for each cottage, should perhaps be restricted as nearby parking is available I think. otherwise a great stay in a comfy cottage. I would stay again.

  • "The place was lovely except the kitchen was extremely under equipped, very little cutlery, no side plates."

Also the hot water was luke warm and even never adding cold water we had to boil the kettle to do the dishes. However it was extremely clean and in a fantastic location.

The beds were really comfortable. Great views from the window and positioned well in Braithwaite. We would definitely stay again.

  • "Nice property and exactly what we needed from a cottage."

Could be improved by basics such as extra loo roll, salt and pepper and coat hooks. Quite disappointing these were not provided.

  • "Lovely location and annex layout was lovely and cosy."

The floor was really dirty when we arrived, we hoovered with the hoover that was supplied and then the downstairs smelt like wet dog for several hours after using the hoover.

  • "Generally we thought the cottage was very nice, well equipped and in a great location."

We did have a few (minor) suggestions/comments:- 1. It would be helpful to have a collated folder of information about the property - the information about bins etc. was spread around the property and needed tracking down. Some info on how to recycle would also be helpful. 2. The walks folder was very useful, although the religious information at the back of the folder was a bit strange! 3. The cottage (No. 3) could do with a clean of the ceilings and upper surfaces - there were quite a lot of cobwebs and the roof beams in the bedroom were very dusty (we’re not particularly fussy, but it was quite noticeable). There were many more positives than negatives though, and we’d definitely stay there again! Thanks Dave and Catherine
