  • "Found items in drawers in 3 rooms left by a previous renter."

Only issue was bin too small for all our rubbish after 1 week. Would rent again if not sold. Plenty space for my grandchildren. Very well equipped.

  • "We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for a large group of 10 as we were."

However we felt there were a few areas to improve on. On arrival bathrooms weren't as clean as would have been expected especially in Covid times, the flat surfaces were dusty and baths/showers didn't look clean, a dead spider in one was there to greet us. Showers couldn't be used at same time as ran cold and the shower in Room 5 drained very slowly. The kitchen was a good size for large group cooking however there wasn't enough kitchen utensils, especially any large serving spoons.

Thank you for your feedback. We have checked and ensured the shower is working well. We will address the cleaning issue, have replaced the silicone around the shower and checked water is flowing as it should be. We will be carrying out a full infantry of the kitchen. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "Home from Home is a lovely holiday house."

It is spacious and well maintained. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean and the two rooms downstairs are ideal for a large family. The outside area is beautiful, especially when the sun shines. If you are taking a dog, as mentioned, people do open the gate to walk through the very top of the garden. We blocked the gap to the main garden with two chairs when we were outside so our dog didn’t try and make friends with them! Great location with lots to explore within an hour away. The owner was incredibly helpful. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

Thank you for your kind feedback, we appreciate your comments and will be putting a gate up shortly. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this Home from Home Holiday house."

Our overall feeling was that the holiday write up didn’t do the house justice. It is a large house with ample space and did feel very homely. The garden exceeded our expectations and the kids loved to play outside. People did pass through the back garden from time to time ( as stated in the write up) but this wasn’t a problem and they were very polite and friendly. The holiday home was in a good place with several takeaways, a park, post office, chemist and local shop on the door step. Plenty to do in and around the area. There’s a nice shopping outlet 7 minutes drove at Gretna. We also enjoyed Talkin Tarn for a nice walk around the lake. We also drove a little further out and visited Acorn Bank NT and Lowther Castle both well worth the visit. A visit to Bitts park in Carlisle was entertaining for the kids too. We arrived home for the kid’s to day they already missed the holiday house - the sign of a good holiday in our opinion. We will hopefully return in the near future.

  • "The keys where at the front of hse rather than the back as stated ..."

The keys where at the front of hse rather than the back as stated Dishwasher had to be emptied Wasn’t deep cleaned or even a good clean Living room had a rug on floor that smelled of urine also so did couch in living room Bathrooms not cleaned cobwebs everywhere Garden is a shared access which wasn’t stated so not ideal with a dog and small children Showers can’t all be used at one time Window wouldn’t open in bedroom

Thank you for your feedback. We do take feedback comments very seriously. Your comments and scores are very out of character for the property 'I am shocked and very sorry that your holiday experience did not turn out as you wanted. We have never had this type of complaint before and we can assure you the property was cleaned thoroughly prior to your arrival. The showers can all be used at the same if needed. Apologies that the dishwasher was not emptied. The rear garden is enclosed and does have a shared entrance as detailed on the website. Property Owner

  • "We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Home from Home."

It’s the perfect place to spend on holiday. The village was perfect for shopping, a good Spar Shop, takeaways and a lovely hotel opposite that did great, tasty food. All the staff were so friendly. We would definitely like to return to this house in the future. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We loved the private outside area when the sun was out to sit and have a drink.
