The property

Situated in the village of Ullock, in Cumbria, is this superb cottage.

Internally, the property has been redecorated into a modern and stylish holiday home for friends and families seeking to escape to the countryside.

Entering the property, you will discover two spacious sitting rooms, one where you can curl up with your loved ones and enjoy a family movie night with the provided Blu-ray player and a selection of DVDs, or use the other for some quiet time to catch up with your favourite shows or enjoy some reading.

Towards the rear of the property is an open-plan kitchen/diner, providing a selection of appliances so you can easily rustle up a delicious home-cooked meal for the whole family to be enjoyed at the dining table over a well-deserved glass of wine.

Retire to one of the two well-presented bedrooms, a double and twin, both of which offer a range of contemporary furniture to store your personal items and offer lovely views across the countryside.

Delight in the family bathroom which provides a bath so you can enjoy a warm soak at the end of a tiring day, or a quick shower to prepare for your mornings in the separate shower cubicle.

For a larger choice of amenities, venture into the ancient market town of Workington, resting on the coast of Cumbria and offers a selection of traditional pubs and restaurants for those fine food and real ale options.

Travel into the town centre of Cockermouth for a large number of tourist attractions, including the National Trust property of Wordsworth House and Garden, dating back to the 18th century and featuring period details and tours dedicated to the life and works of the famous poet himself.

You are within reach of the beautiful Lake District National Park for a plethora of countryside attractions, where you can get involved with some scenic walking and hiking opportunities in one of the most picturesque parts of the Lake District.

Return to Bridge End Cottage for a relaxing evening with your loved ones either inside or outside in the cottage garden by the river Marron.

About the location

Bassenthwaite Lake 7 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
