We stayed for a week with 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs and this was a great base for exploring the north and western lakes. The owner was friendly and helpful and has a great list of options for trips and entertainment available to suit all tastes. We had perfect weather so the 2 minute walk to the beach across the little footbridge was fantastic, but for those who don’t fancy the excercise there is a small coffee area (almost like an indoor balcony) with amazing views over the water to while away the morning or to watch the sunsets. When the tide is out the beach goes on for miles and is great fun for stone stacking, collecting skimming stones and splashing in the waves. The games room was enjoyed by all in the evenings with a great range of toys and games available for kids of all ages. The village is quiet (so the kids can ramble around safely on their own) and has a great little sweet/ice cream shop and local tea room but beware; the local chip shop stops taking orders at 7pm!!
