Laurel Bank House is a well-appointed holiday cottage, nestled in the village of Motherby.

Ideally situated on the outskirts of The Lake District, this stylish and pet-friendly accommodation provides a fabulous base for families or groups of six travelling with their four-legged friends.

After an exhilarating day spent exploring the Lake District National Park, head into the warmth of the boot room where you can take a seat on the stunning wooden bench and take off your mud splattered boots before hanging up your coat.

Freshen up in the handy cloakroom and let your culinary skills shine as you take to the chic kitchen where you can grab ingredients from the spacious American fridge freezer and cook up a hearty breakfast with the help of the contemporary electric oven and hob, for the whole group to enjoy around the breakfast table.

Make your way into sitting/dining room to unwind on one of the three plush sofas as you watch a movie on the large TV and warm from the flames of the woodburning stove.

Gather at the dining table to indulge in a family feast, followed by an entertaining evening of your favourite board games for some friendly competition.

Climb the beautiful staircase with its striking original wood banister up to the first floor and be greeted by a light and airy bathroom, where you can choose a relaxing soak in the bathtub or shower before grabbing your toasty towel from the heated rail and wandering into your room for the duration of your holiday.

Stay in the homely king-size bedroom decorated with a cheerful yellow feature wall and pretty navy accents, which can be transformed into a twin hosting two singles upon request.

Discover a further two double bedrooms each boasting their own en-suite shower rooms, where you can take your time to get ready for the action-packed day that lies ahead.

Watch the world go by as you bask in the sunshine on a warm summer's day in the front garden, sipping on a refreshing glass of lemonade at the patio table and admiring the views of the outstanding rolling countryside.

Venture into Penrith to explore the magnificent Penrith Castle and soak up the local history at the Penrith and Eden Museum, or visit the 13th Century ruins of Broughham Castle, then be taken back by the outstanding scenery at Surprise View.

Ullswater Lake is just under 8 miles away and is a fabulous place to base some Lake District walks or hire a boat and meander along the waters for a leisurely afternoon.

The Castlerigg Stone Circle which is thought to be over 5,000 years old offers panoramic views of the surroundings including Derwenwater, Blencathra hill and the mountain peak of Skiddaw, all fantastic and challenging additions to incorporate into your exploration of this much-loved national park, as well as being on the doorstep of the bustling town of Keswick.

Be sure to stay at Laurel Bank House for a memorable holiday by the Lake District.
