"We had a lovely week at The Old Grainstore."
Great accommodation, very clean and well-equipped, and located in a delightful, peaceful area. It's not surprising to read that so many others have chosen to return time and again.

"This cottage was absolutely fantastic."
Everything that you would need to make a perfect holiday. Exceptionally clean, comfortable and so homely. Joanne and Martin made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Helped feed the cavles and had fresh eggs from the chickens.
Enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked for next year.

"The Grainstore is superbly equipped with everything you need for a home from home self catering holiday."
The cottage was spotlessly clean which is very reassuring during these unprecedented Covid times.
The owners are friendly and welcoming as are their adorable and well behaved farm dogs.
The Grainstore is set on a working farm but it was very peaceful and quiet with a real feeling of being in the countryside. Full amenities, however are just a short 5 mins away in Wigton. We enjoyed a visit to the Lakes Distillery to purchase local gins, the lovely town of Keswick and the major town of Carlisle, all within 20-30 mins scenic drive from the cottage. Highly recommended

"I've never stayed in such a well-equipped holiday cottage before."
The owners bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable. We had a 3 year old with us and they provided a bed guard, loads of age-appropriate books and toys, and lots of outdoor equipment to play on. The kitchen had more pans and cooking essentials than my own!
The owners were also really friendly, and let us help to feed the cows. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

"My family and I stayed at The Old Grainstore to celebrate my dad's 50th birthday which I made our host, Joanne, aware of."
On arrival the cottage had been decorated with birthday banners and a birthday cake was left for us to enjoy. The cottage itself was perfect for us as a family of 6 with two small children. Overall Joanne could not have been a more accommodating host and I would recommend the cottage as a stay to anyone looking for a lovely, countryside break!

"I really cannot fault the facilities and surroundings at The Old Grainstore."
The hosts on arriving were both pleasant and informative. The level of comfort exceeded our expectations and was a 'home' from 'home' experience. As this is a working farm we were offered the opportunity to get hands on also which was a great treat feeding the calfs for my 2 year old. Keep up the good work. We will definitely be coming back.

"Stayed here with a few friends at the end of Febuary."
Couldn't be anymore pleased with our stay, was welcomed by the lovely owner and was even told we could feed the baby calfs! The cottage was more than enough for our stay and you could tell that it is well looked after as it was spotless. The owner even went above and beyond mailing a forgotten jumper that we accidentally left back to us. Couldn't reccomend this place enough, will definitely be back in the future!

"The holiday home was superb, we cannot fault it in any way."
The owners are extremely welcoming people, we were met on our first day with a basket of freshly baked scones, home made jam and fresh eggs which were all very yummy. The place itself is scrupulously clean and is furnished to a very high standard. The kitchen exceeded our expectations as when we opened the cupboards, there were oil, condiments, all sort of sauces, foil, cling film, you name it and it was there. The cleaning products were there, we took our own , but did not use them, there was washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing tablets , conditioner, too long to go on. Joanne thought of everything to make her guests feel very welcome indeed. Well done Joanne and Martin, thank you so much for making our stay such a welcoming one.

"We had the most fantastic Holiday in Cumbria."
The Old Grainstore completely surpassed expectations. It is a gorgeous little cottage, that has been beautifully converted and well maintained. Everything we could possibly need had been provided. We received a lovely welcome basket filled with homemade scones, banana bread, and local jam. Joanne had also left a selection of toys for my little girl to play with during our stay which she absolutely adored, and was so thoughtful. All the rooms were well appointed, comfy beds and sofas, and beautifully decorated. We loved the outside space, a little courtyard at the back where we had a barbecue one evening (also provided by our lovely hosts), and a lawned area next to a field with calves and sheep with ride on toys which my daughter also loved. We had the opportunity to feed the calves in the evenings, and we were also taken on a nature walk around the farm one evening where we saw a buzzard, heron and two hares (amongst other wildlife).
Our hosts were so friendly and accommodating, I really cannot fault The Old Grainstore. We has such a wonderful time. I would thoroughly recommend you book your holiday here!
