The property

Nestled in the coastal village of Southerness, in Scotland, is this wonderful white stone cottage.

Positioned on the edge of the delightful sandy beach, this property offers an excellent base for those keen on a seaside holiday.

Fairway promises to be a retreat to remember, with the interior having been renovated to provide modern accommodation, whilst still retaining some of its original features.

Step into the sitting room, where you can relax and unwind of an evening, with the Smart TV to keep you entertained.

Move through to the well-equipped kitchen, where you can rustle up a delicious home-cooked meal for the whole family to enjoy.

Take your meals and drinks into the wonderful conservatory/sun room and delight in the picturesque views across the beach, whilst catching up with the day's events.

There are two stylish bedrooms, one of which acts as a family room housing two bunk beds, perfect for a group of friends or a family with children.

The master bedroom has been equipped with a double bed and a range of quality furniture to store your personal items.

You are within a wonderful part of Scotland, with easy access to a number of attractions, many of which are of historical importance.

Caerlaverock Castle is a moated triangular castle, dating back to the 13th century and boasting impressive twin-towered gatehouse.

Mere steps from your front door is the delightful Southerness Beach, where you can spend your afternoons taking long walks across the soft sand with your four-legged friends, or indulging in a variety of beach games and watersports.

If long walks and birdwatching is your thing, then venture towards the nature reserve of RSPB Mersehead, or the large hill of Criffel for plenty of mountain climbing, hiking and running.

Fairway is the ultimate choice for friends and families looking to explore the coast of Scotland.

About the location

Castle Douglas 19 miles; Dalbeattie 13 miles; Dumfries 16 miles.

Southerness is a small coastal village established in the late 18th century, which looks out over the Solway Firth, and forms part of the Colvend coast, one of the finest stretches of coastline on the 'Scottish Riviera'. Home to two pubs, a village store, a leisure centre with a pool and two miles of sandy beaches with sand dunes, rock pools and Gulf Stream warmed waters, and one of the oldest lighthouses in Scotland, built in 1748, it has everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. The nearby Criffel Hill rises to 569m, offers wonderful views of the farmland and the sands of the Nith Estuary below, and provides great walking opportunities. The Southerness Championship Golf Course adjoins the village and offers panoramic views of the Solway Firth, the Cumbrian Lake District to the south and the Galloway Hills to the west. A great location, with something to keep everybody occupied.
