The property

Keswick 3.9 miles.

Town Gate Barn is a popular detached, reverse-level barn conversion in Threlkeld, near the market town of Keswick.

Town Gate Barn offers beautiful countryside views, and sleeps up to six guests, making this barn conversion an ideal base for a family trip to the Lake District.

With the living areas upstairs, you'll get the advantage of wonderful, bright views of countryside and mountains; a stylish dining table for all guests sits in the well-equipped kitchen/diner for enjoying home-cooked evening meals, with a handy dishwasher for an easy clean-up.

Patio doors lead onto the decking for alfresco dining on the picnic bench, whilst the sitting room boasts a woodburning stove for colder evenings, perfect for movie nights if you can take your eyes off the stunning views framed by three large windows.

To complete the first floor, there is also a snug room which has a TV offering a DVD player for a relaxing evening with a family favourite film, or a Wii if you're wishing to challenge your loved ones to some electronic games.

On the ground-floor there are three bedrooms; a king-size with its own en-suite bathroom so guests can have an extra bit of privacy, and two twin rooms, one with a truckle bed to comfortable sleep either one or two guests.

All guests have use of the contemporary wet room to rinse off the day, as well as a drying area, perfect for leaving coats and boots after a long day's hike.

You can also pack light knowing any muddy clothes can be thrown into the convenient washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility area.

The barn conversion offers off-road parking for two cars and an incredible, mutli-level rear garden, with lawn and a decking area to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun set over Blencathra.

If you can tear yourself away, Threlkeld is a small, thriving village well-worth venturing into, with two popular pubs and a community coffee shop just a short walk away and serving excellent food.

Town Gate Barn is at the foot of Blencathra for scenic walks straight from your doorstep!

There are bus links to Penrith and Keswick, or take the four-mile 'old railway line' path by bike or foot straight into Keswick; shops, eateries, activities and attractions welcome you in this popular holiday centre, where you can catch a show at the famous Theatre by the Lake, challenge your family to a game of mini golf or explore the quirky museums, galleries and parks.

Between Threlkeld and Keswick is the popular climbing wall and the Neolithic stone circle at Castle Rigg.

Alternatively, head in the other direction towards Ullswater where you will find the stunning Aira Force Waterfall, which offers fabulous nature trails, or take a lake cruise departing from Glenridding.

For a scenic trip to The Lake District, Town Gate Barn is an excellent base.
