  • "The facilities at Whitbarrow village are excellent."

Mallard Cottage could do with some upgrading e.g sofas a bit tired looking. It could also benefit from a washing machine and tumble dryer. Had some issues with repairs and staff, but these were resolved by the helpful resort manager. The area is ideal for a relaxing/ active holiday

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Mallard Cottage."

It would have been better had all the facilities on site been open, but the covid 19 pandemic prevented that. The site itself was very well kept and the receptionists were very helpful indeed. The property was well maintained and we found everything we needed was provided. I would definitely recommend this property and would not hesitate to book it again in future.

  • "A lovely cottage and well positioned and equipped."

Good facilities on site. Would have been nice to have more information about the swimming pool and the need to book. But I understand that it is very challenging circumstances at the moment. Hope to return.

  • "Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean."

The only issue we had was the oven it does not cook very well so could do with replacing. Also more oven trays could be added to the cottage as cooking for a family of 5 one tray is not enough, not all families can eat out every night. Overall lovely cottage, comfortable stay good facilities on site (although no shop and none close by). The cottage is a bit out of the way of everywhere so we did need to drive but didn't mind that so would return and stay again.

  • "We had an amazing time here."

The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable. We used the facilities daily, the children really enjoying the pool, crazy golf and table tennis. The staff on reception were polite and friendly and were lovely with the children. We enjoyed exploring the area and to top it all off the weather was sunny!

  • "Lovely house but couldn't get my head around the upside down living."

Peaceful environment with regular duck visitors every morning. Reception and bar staff very friendly and helpful, kids loved the pool and jacuzzi. Would recommend and would like to come again but perhaps to a 'usual' style house instead

  • "This cottage benefitted from a great view."

We always use Whitbarrow for our week away in the Lakes- the benefit of having the facilities (pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi etc) means that after a lovely day walking you can relax and unwind whilst allowing the kids to continue to have fun. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
