“After being welcomed warmly by the owner I discovered this cottage has everything you need for a perfect relaxing break.”
The cottage was comfortable and cosy and perfectly positioned to explore the area with stunning views across the valley. I loved watching the sunrises and sunsets and the night skies are glorious. I would definitely recommend this cottage and would book it again myself.
“The cottage was very warm and comfortable, with some nice welcoming touches - fresh flowers on the table, milk in the fridge and several other little things we could need.”
the owner was friendly and showed us round - then left us alone. Fantastic views all round, a lovely part of the country to visit Hadrians Wall and Hexham. The little enclosed garden was perfect for our 3 small dogs. Very hilly area with walks if you are able. We really had a lovely week and may return there one day.
“Beautiful views from the cottage, lots of walks all around.”
Friendly welcome by host, for us and our dogs.
“We had a lovely week the cottage was easy to locate had stunning views across the valley as was really high up.”
The cottage it self was clean comfortable and had everything you could possibly want even milk in the fridge and doggy treats for the four legged guests. Would highly recommend.
“Fabulous location for quietness and contemplation.”
Close enough to local village for pub, shop etc and for general travel to other destinations/attractions.
“The cottage is very very good but in very remote position nice area but to walk ...”
The cottage is very very good but in very remote position nice area but to walk a mile uphill on way from village is asking a bit much of people my age but still enjoyed a very pleasant place food in local pubs very good
“The pony paddock was perfect for our ponies.”
the hills were a bit onb the steep side but they coped with them exceptionally well
“I have been familiar with Allendale for more than 50 years and love it and its rural setting.”
Because it is remote from large conurbations (and street lighting) on clear nights the sky is a most spectacular star map. The local village (Allendale Town) is about a mile away (accessible by footpaths for the fit and able or by car for the less fit) and is home to a well stocked mini supermarket, restaurants, pubs, coffee and tea shops.
