  • "What a fantastic property."

Having stayed in a few different holiday cottages it is fair to say that the clock tower was one of the most well equipped. The owners have thought of everything. The hot tub is a perfect addition to the property and was very well used during our stay.

  • "Fantastic weekend with our group of lifelong friends - we all felt instantly at home at The Clock Tower."

A perfect location with Cartmel only a 5 min drive. We'll be back next year for sure!

  • "Fantastic place, very clean and furnished to a high standard."

Issue however with fly’s downstairs and wasps upstairs. 2 bathrooms for 8 people (1 and en suite) is not ideal.

  • "The Clock Tower is a beautiful property in a great location."

It is extremely well equipped, and was a great size space for 2 x families. The Hot tub was a great addition to this really unique place to stay. Located near Cartmel, which is lovely and in very easy reach of the Lakes and all this area has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our week away and would definitely recommend and return to stay here.

  • "Lovely property with lots of extra touches you wouldn’t normally get in a holiday let (nice coffee, bottle of Prosecco, towels, dishwasher tablets …)."

Lovely garden and plenty of room for parking. Very pleasant hosts.

  • "The Clock Tower is a fantastic place to stay."

We would definitely recommend and would stay again with pleasure. It is one of the best equipped cottages we have ever stayed in. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the detail; from a huge range of drinks glasses for indoors and out and more kitchen utensils than I have at home; to towels for the hot tub; cosy snuggly blankets in the lounge and snug; sweets and a bottle of wine as well as the usual welcome tray.; plenty of loo rolls and soap so no need to shop the minute we arrived. We loved the snug! Great place to watch the Euro 2020 finals! And what a lovely view of the garden to soften the blow of the penalty saves!!! The hot tub was such a treat. My only query would be it’s position. The driveway in front of the garden is also access to the adjoining properties so it didn’t always feel totally private, particularly as when we were there the builders were working on the property next door (obviously that won’t be forever). It was by no means a huge issue but just worth noting. It just felt a little awkward sat in the hot tub drinking Prosecco whist the guys were working hard! I also wondered how it felt for the neighbours as it is very close to their property. Perhaps it would be better placed in the beautiful garden area. Pros and cons of both I guess; and it certainly didn’t stop us using it loads; just a thought really; not a complaint. The area itself is beautiful. An easy walk into Cartmel with a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. The walk over to Holker Hall was recommended by the friendly neighbours but we didn’t get chance to go. We ate in the cavendish Arms in cartmel and the Pheasant in allithwaite both of which we would recommend for different reasons. The Hazelmere cafe in Grange does a nice brunch. There is also a range of takeaways in Grange over Sands which was a surprisingly lovely little town. There are amazing walks locally. We didn’t attempt any of the big hikes or killer hills just a few local ones including Gummers How, Hampsfell Hospice and the walk up to High Tarn. All between 4-6 miles. Fell Foot is a fab place to swim in lake Windermere. We also found a few good spots by lake coniston. All in all it was a lovely relaxing holiday. The clock tower isn’t cheap; but the combination of the quality of the property itself, the hot tub and the wonderful location made it good value. We’d have paid more for flights and a villa in the Balearics! Wish we were still there now!

  • "We had an amazing week."

The cottage is in a quiet setting with a few adjacent buildings. It is a short walk to the lovely village of Cartmel, perfect for local amenities and sticky toffee pudding. The cottage had everything we could need and kept adults and teens happy. Spiral staircase would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. This is a perfect base for a holiday in the southern lakes and we would fully recommend it.

The property was immaculate and every possible item you can imagine was provided for. A real home from home. Would highly recommend
