  • "Lovely compact property."

Felt spacious due to high ceiling and lots of windows. Decorated and maintained to high standard. Everything within walking distance. Free parking disc for central parking two mins away.

Loft, small but perfectly formed. Description acurate and honest, location great for all the amenities in Ambleside, parking not a problem never realy bothered trying to park near cott. as the car park is less than 2 mins. away. nice touch the bread and biscuits, we ate in a few nights oven and hob very good (better than home) loverly shower, comfy bed and settee. If I was to be very picky the key safe is quite awkward to use in the dark, I had to almost kneel down to get the key out.

The bed was super comfy! Couldnt ask for a better location. Couldn’t find the hairdryer that was said to be in the wardrobe is my only gripe, but otherwise I definitely will be heading back.

  • "Small, perfectly formed and immaculately clean."

Although the kitchen area is compact, it was well equipped. We took some big pots out of the cupboards, otherwise there wasn't anywhere to store food outside the fridge. This is just a minor concern and didn't detract from recommending this accommodation.

It was perfect. The facilities and extras were wonderful, particularly the bread in the welcome pack! The location is superb, the car stayed in the car park all week (very grateful for the parking permit supplied!). We will have no hesitation in booking to stay in the Loft again!

Renovated to a high standard with everything we needed for a perfect week away. We particularly enjoyed morning coffee and an afternoon glass of wine on the patio....or nipping down the the Golden Rule for a pint! The parking permit worked perfectly as car didn't move for a week as we walked straight out onto the hills from the front door! We will definitely return!

  • "The property was perfect for the two of us and a pleasure to come home to at the end of a long walk."

The welcome hamper was very thoughtful and the bed was super comfy. It's within easy reach of everything Ambleside has to offer and thanks to the guidebook in the cottage there were plenty of walks straight from the door. We were able to leave the car in the car park for the week using the free permit provided.

  • "The traffic going up and down Kirkstone Road started about 7."

00am and finished around 11.00pm. Very noisy, in the Loft and when using the patio area. We stayed for two weeks, the first week our neighbours, in the Studio were very quiet. The second week our new neighbours, in the Studio moving furniture at all times of the day and especially at night even after 1.00am they didn’t have any respect for their neighbours. Maybe a notice saying Please Respect Your Neighbours would be an idea.

Thank you for your 100% score Barry. We appreciate you clarifying that due to road closures in the area, Kirkstone Road was much busier than usual during your stay at the Loft. After renovation we had acoustic tests undertaken to ensure there is no sound transfer between the apartments; this test was passed with ease. However, we will ask guests in all 3 of our Prospect properties to respect their neighbours, especially at night.....and yes, please do come back and stay with us again. Property Owner

Alot smaller than appeared on website Hob didn't work Constant noise from passing traffic Steep hills all round, making parking, access and egress very awkward Neighbours outside security light comes on at night when cars pass close to property

Thank you for your feedback. Customer comments are very important to us I am sorry that you weren’t able to use the hob. We do provide instructions in the property and we are on hand throughout the whole holiday if there was a problem. We have checked the hob on changeover and its working fine. The loft has new windows that are double glazed and an extremely substantial new door (including category 5 mortice locks), glass panes in the door also double glazed so minimal noise through them. The property is on the first floor and as such is not right next to the road. The road goes quiet at night. The main window has interlined fabric for the inside recess roman blind and interlined thick heavy curtains so the security light cant disturb customers Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback Property Owner

  • "The apartment is super but with a little extra thought it could be be perfect for a week’s stay in the Lakes."

At the moment there is nowhere (other than the fridge) to store your food, nowhere to dry wet clothes (it is the Lakes) and very little storage for walking or cycling kit. It would also be lovely to have cushions for the outside chairs and perhaps a storage unit outside for these to go in. The interior of the apartment is gorgeous but very cramped and the large wooden chair just gets in the way. It would be much easier and more spacious without it.

Thank you very much for your feedback on our Loft apartment. During the recent renovation we were able to make the best use of floor-space to ensure that we had the optimum design for couples to enjoy their time in the Lakes. As such the open-plan apartment has areas for preparing food and dining, relaxing on the sofa watching the TV and enjoying a good night's sleep in the king-size bed; there are also coat hooks at the door for outdoor clothes and boots. Every aspect of the Loft is well photographed on our website. We do hope you enjoyed your time with us. Many thanks, the property owner. Property Owner

It has got to be the cleanest, most comfortable and well equipped self catering accommodation we have ever stayed at. It was also in a great location, a short walk from the town centre and with great views from the small private patio area. The bed was very comfortable, the shower powerful and kitchen so well equipped with top quality products, crockery and general necessities. We would definitely stay again and would recommend to any family or friends wanting to stay in the Lake District. Thanks to the owner for providing such a great place to stay and enjoy a wonderful area.

A microwave has since been added and there was a hair dryer and iron to use too. My only frustration is with the time you have to wait if you have to speak to Sykes, once I was told it wouldn't be long to speak to the department I needed as it was early and no queue, but it was a long time on hold. Two other times, I just gave up.

A microwave oven in the kitchen would have been useful. Parking was difficult directly outside the property, however the owner provides a permit to allow you to park for free in the nearby long stay car park ( only a 2 minutes walk from the property ). The permit also allows you to park for free in certain other car parks in nearby villages. We used it twice in Grasmere when visiting, which was really useful. We had a lovely holiday.

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
