The property

Located just a stone's throw away from the hub of Ambleside in an elevated position, is this attractive semi-detached cottage built in traditional slate, perfectly situated for enjoying all the facilities that this town has to offer.

Beautifully-presented throughout with a mix of traditional character complemented with modern amenities, makes this a charming base for friends and family wishing to be superbly located in one of the most breathtaking parts of the Lake District.

As you enter the cottage you will see the integrity of the building has been enhanced from the open plan kitchen/diner with its stone-flagged floor and the comfortable seating area with original stone fireplace.

Enjoy the wood burner which is perfect to keep warm and cosy on those chilly winter evenings.

All three bedrooms enjoy views across the rooftops to Lakeland fells and Loughrigg, with the spacious second floor bedroom boasting a stunning vaulted ceiling, beams and en-suite, as well as a seating area.

Ambleside has a bustling centre with an excellent selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, along with water activities such as the lake cruises.

Also the infamous Bridge House, one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District is just yards away from this delightful holiday home.

Enjoy the comfort of this cottage, or have an alfresco drink on the intimate patio.

Alternatively, enjoy a meal in one of the many pubs.

An excellent cottage for enjoying the stunning Lake District all year round.

About the location

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
