“Lovely place to stay very peaceful area which was brilliant after a full day’s walking/hiking around the Lakes.”

Neighbours with the dogs were friendly towards my young daughter. The whole family slept well and we had everything we needed, would definitely stay again.

The property

2 Boarbank Farm is a bright and airy ground and first floor apartment which is accessed from ground level, resting on the edge of the village of Allithwaite.

Sitting in the luscious green setting of the Cartmel Peninsula, this attractive abode is the ideal location for families or couples travelling with their four-legged friends.

As you make your way through the front garden and up to the door, admire the views of the Morecambe Bay in the distance before stepping into the spacious open-plan living space where you can put down your bags and take off your coats and shoes.

Wander over to the contemporary kitchen with stunning high-gloss units and fantastic appliances such as the microwave and halogen hob, which can be used to whip up a magnificent meal for the whole family to feast upon at the dining table whilst you crack open a bottle of your preferred beverage.

After filling your boots with delicious food and fine wines, retire to the spacious sofa and scan the TV for a movie or some light entertainment for all to enjoy.

Guests staying on the ground floor can choose from a peaceful single bedroom with extra pull out bed for flexibility, with neutral tones and crisp bedding as well as a pretty Juliet balcony looking out over the property, or a spacious double bedroom with a bright blue feature wall and plenty of space within the fitted wardrobes for guests to hang their belongings and feel right at home.

Climb the beautiful oak winding staircase with iron spindles up to the first floor and be greeted by a charming mezzanine king-size bedroom with sloping exposed beam ceilings and clear safety glass providing views out over the living space below.

Back downstairs, relax with a good book with a deep soak in the corner bath or freshen up with a thoughtful shower in the ground-floor bathroom, complete with a basin and WC.

Spend time on the front patio with some alfresco dining at the outdoor furniture whilst basking in the sunshine and appreciating the fresh Lake District air.

With Cartmel Raceourse being a leisurely 30 minute walk away from the property, do be sure to join in one of the race days with the family and dogs, held between the May and August bank holidays each year – very popular as you can even take a picnic with you!

Explore everything Allithwaite has to offer as you embark on a morning stroll into the centre of the village before jumping in the car and heading for Cartmel to see the Priory Gatehouse, or visiting Grange-over-Sands for a stroll along the promenade with the dogs and a trip to the Clock Tower.

Spend a day outdoors at Roudsea Wood and Mosses National Nature Reserve or wander the well-kept gardens of Holker Hall.

For a relaxing retreat to Allithwaite, stay at 2 Boarbank Farm, and you’ll be sure to return for more memorable times ahead.
