  • "This was a clean and comfortable property, that is excellent value."

Its walking distance of Cartmel and some lovely views. We hope to stay again!

  • "We were wary before we arrived as we had read other reviews saying things were lacking so we went prepared with sharp knives, frying pan, side light etc to find many things had been resolved."

The property is in a nice quiet location, 30 mins to Windermere. We did lots of walking, loved the Pig & Whistle which is 30 mins walk. Lovely views of Morecombe Bay on clear days. Be careful on decking and spiral staircase, both very slippery. Would consider staying again.

  • "The description of the accommodation repeatedly says ground level, it is a first floor flat."

We had dogs with us and as it was a flat we were anxious about the noise the dogs were making crossing the hard laminate floor and the possible disturbance to the neighbours below. The secure area for dogs is a raised balcony and again we were concerned about safety if the dog jumped over either into the roof adjacent or the drop to the ground. The sitting out space is not a secure garden as people might assume. The double bed in the mezzanine is not useable for adults as you can’t walk upright to get to it (I am 5’5” my husband is 6’) The double bed in the downstairs room is poor quality and is essentially a mattress on the floor. It was this uncomfortable bed that eventually made us decide to leave early. I recommend that you do not advertise this flat as suitable for dogs. The beds need urgent replacement and I have no idea how anyone would use the mezzanine, unless they crawl. It’s a nice location but the accommodation set up is hard for 2 couples.

  • "Great location otherwise extremely disappointing property."

Cobwebs everywhere, clutter in the cupboards, woken by tradesmen working in property below everyday day including Sunday, upstairs bedroom is like a cave (unusable by an adult!), double bed essentially a mattress on the floor, no lamps anywhere (I hate overhead lights!), no bedside cabinets, cutlery all had to be washed before use, crockery mismatched and chipped, sleeps 6 theoretically but dining table and lounge area only seats 4, oven so dirty it set off the fire alarm sensor when switched on, hangers in wardrobes are children sized freebies …. There is quirky but this is way beyond that.

  • "Enjoyed our stay."

Was just as we expected it. Only minor gripe is with the local dustmen who opened our bin briefly, saw it to be full and left it. We had nowhere to leave waste for the rest of the week.

  • "It is an ok place to stay, we didn’t spend much time in the cottage as we where out all days."

The cottage is comfortable and the kids loved the bean bags. When arrived the kitchen and bathroom where still not properly clean. And some of the things to use in the kitchen was dirty like frying pan and knifes etc. The grass out side where very high and sitting next to your car wasn’t very pleasant. So we didn’t use the outside area very much. The kitchen table was good but you couldn’t fit 6 people in. Overall stay was ok as it is in the Lake District and we had somewhere to sleep. And the kids really enjoy their stay. The bedrooms was a good size and very comfortable.

  • "We had a great time at the property and it was very well presented and in good condition."

I have a couple of suggestions * A few extra rolls of toilet paper would be very useful * Blackout curtains in the bedrooms would be great for the days when you want to have a lie in. * I couldn't find instructions on which bin needs to be kept out during the week we were there, it would be really helpful to the guests if this could be communicated.

  • "No frying pan, sharp knives or bed side lights otherwise good."

  • "Adequate - Access for disabled Mother in Law not as easy as anticipated."

No handrails for disabled in bathroom/toilet. Toilet flush needs attention, not flushing or re-filling correctly (mentioned in guest book by most visitors). Cobwebs on feature light/chandelier fitting, and in corners of rooms around ceiling areas. Double beds very low for older or disabled guests. Smart TV (amazon fire stick) not fully explained for uninitiated! Otherwise a very nice cottage in an interesting setting.

  • "To start with, was left with dishwasher tablets inside clean tea towel, and no dishwasher!"

!! Threshold bar between bedroom and hall so loose we tripped over it! No under sheets on beds or pillows, and pillows were dirty!! Wardrobes full off stuff, which we had to move to enable us to hang clothes up! No storage whatsoever in mezzanine bedroom and unused wooden flooring still in the box on the floor! Shortage of bedside tables! Dining table very small, certainly not big enough for 6! Not at all dog friendly, very tiny garden and not even enclosed ! Toilet seat loose!

  • "Lovely place to stay very peaceful area which was brilliant after a full day’s walking/hiking around the Lakes."

Neighbours with the dogs were friendly towards my young daughter. The whole family slept well and we had everything we needed, would definitely stay again.
