“Lovely place to stay for a peaceful break away from the hum drum working week, great walks from the cottage, great pub and friendly welcome.”
.....loved our stay.

“A perfect walker's cottage, conveniently situated next to a pub with great character.”
I'm sure we'll be back!
“Wonderful location, friendly locals, cosy cottage, peace and quiet, all combined to make this a memorable holiday.”
Undoubtedly this is the best place we've stayed at so far in the Dales, having visited for many years and one we intend to come back to.
“Our fifth visit, great location for walking, very friendly pub next door.”
“The cottage was a bit smaller than expected, but was well furbished with everything that you need.”
It is well located in a peaceful location and is ideal for going for short walks. It is next to Falcon Inn, however please note that they don't serve dinner. But Grassington village is nearby around 6.5 miles where there are lots of restaurants. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting the Malham area.
“An excellent base to explore the Dales.”
Fabulous walks and views right on the doorstep. Cottage was well equipped and accommodated 3 adults comfortably. Will definitely be going back.

This cottage was just perfect for us we wanted to get some peace and quit and just relax the setting is lovely , but the local pup was handy for food and ice cream and a drink , the cottage is just lovely wanted to take the shower home ,if your looking to get away into the country side leave the city life behind this is for you , plenty of places to visit just a short drive away , very friendly people and had a very lelaxed time did not want to come home will definitely be going back
“Great traditional cottage, cozy and comfy, lovely location, great pub.”
“The first impression of West View was 'small' rather than 'cosy' but we soon realized it was beautifully equipped and everything thought of - good linen and towels, hair-dryer, walking books etc.”
I think the listing might make mention of the large under-stairs storage space because this was really useful. The table to eat at was OK for 2 but would have been difficult for three. I suggest a gate-leg flap table might be better. The equipment was all good but we could have done with a few small bowls - for nibbles to go with the G&Ts in the evening, or to put something on in the fridge. The listing was correct about the pub (1 minute away) but I never saw a shop 2 minutes away. However (and I said as much in the note I left) much more could and should be done with the outside. The pub (which owns West View) had very nice planters and hanging baskets but this didn't extend to West View which had three or four pots of dead plants. And there was a healthy crop of weeds in front of the bench outside. It just needs half a hour tidy-up. JD 22.6.18
“If you are looking to stay in a posh holiday cottage next to a theatre and bowling alley then forget it!”
However, if you are looking for a real 1950's Yorkshire Dales experience with a pub to match, then this is the place for you. Location is idyllic Dales countryside; pub is absolutely brilliant yesterday experience to match.

A beautiful, well-known village in the civil parish of Littondale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You may recognise this delightful village, especially if you're a TV soaps fan as Arncliffe was the original setting for Emmerdale, with the Falcon Inn pub acting as the Woolpack in the show. The River Skirfare runs through the village and is rife for fishing. As well as having some incredible natural scenery, the area is also a haven for walkers and cyclists with seemingly endless trails right on your doorstep. A fantastic, scenic walk up a narrow, country path takes you to the stunning Malham, the perfect place for scenery.
