  • "We have just had a wonderful week at Greenhills Lodge."

It has provided a perfect base for visiting the lakes, in a wonderfully peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of the towns. Despite being on a farm in the countryside, there is excellent access to general facilities such as shopping, restaurants etc. The lodge is wonderfully spacious, excellently equipped, really comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. Great garden facility for dogs - fenced and secure.

Very fortunate to have 2 weeks of perfect weather and ended the holiday watching my son skydive on his 18th Birthday. Thanks for a great time The Stanfords

  • "We have just had a weeks holiday at Green Hills Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it."

The owner was super friendly and helpful and we had all we needed in the lodge - we have never stayed somewhere with such a fully equipped kitchen! The location is breathtaking - with views of the rolling hills and farm from the cottage. We really switched off and enjoyed the peaceful environment. Ulverston is a graft town with some lovely cafes/pubs/restaurants and only a short drive from the cottage (about 6 minutes). Ma great base to explore the lakes too - would recommend West Lakes (particularly Wast Water) - magnificent views and a stunning lakeside drive (with plenty of places to stop on the roadside). Very sad to be leaving - great holiday that we will not forget!

  • "This was the second Sykes holiday we had taken with the dogs, so thought we were up to speed on what was provided etc."

We were not let down and everything was exactly how we had expected it to be, with the exception of one small thing. The lockable garden is just across the farm roadway (around 10ft away) where the dogs were able to run around and play. They loved it and there was a table and seating for when we had wanted to sit with them. The cottage was extremely big and had all you could want regarding utensils etc. The owner introduced himself, which was nice and said he could be contacted at any time should we need to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Found it very difficult to leave especially with regular visits from Rodney! The house was furnished beautifully and was cosy and warm. We even had a takeaway delivered. It was nice to be able to hear the cows in the morning and watch the sun rise and set. We had a lovely time even though there was a pandemic! Credit to the owners and the cleaners. Thank you.

ie. It only shows the property and not the old cow shed alongside. Your cleaners are not up to the job (I found a visa card for a mr brown under seat cushion along with several peanuts and it must have been there since September) the rest of the seats were just as bad, there was cobwebs above and at the side of the fridge freezer. Otherwise it was very good
