  • "This property was absolutely perfect."

It was a really great size and perfectly laid out for what we needed. It was really clean and was great to be able to take our dog with us. The owners were lovely and in a number of occasions spoke with us regarding beach recommendations and local walks. Couldn’t have asked for any more. Would go again in a heartbeat.

  • "We have just had a weeks holiday at Green Hills Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it."

The owner was super friendly and helpful and we had all we needed in the lodge - we have never stayed somewhere with such a fully equipped kitchen! The location is breathtaking - with views of the rolling hills and farm from the cottage. We really switched off and enjoyed the peaceful environment. Ulverston is a graft town with some lovely cafes/pubs/restaurants and only a short drive from the cottage (about 6 minutes). Ma great base to explore the lakes too - would recommend West Lakes (particularly Wast Water) - magnificent views and a stunning lakeside drive (with plenty of places to stop on the roadside). Very sad to be leaving - great holiday that we will not forget!

  • "This was the second Sykes holiday we had taken with the dogs, so thought we were up to speed on what was provided etc."

We were not let down and everything was exactly how we had expected it to be, with the exception of one small thing. The lockable garden is just across the farm roadway (around 10ft away) where the dogs were able to run around and play. They loved it and there was a table and seating for when we had wanted to sit with them. The cottage was extremely big and had all you could want regarding utensils etc. The owner introduced himself, which was nice and said he could be contacted at any time should we need to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "What a beautiful cottage to spend a week in."

Found it very difficult to leave especially with regular visits from Rodney! The house was furnished beautifully and was cosy and warm. We even had a takeaway delivered. It was nice to be able to hear the cows in the morning and watch the sun rise and set. We had a lovely time even though there was a pandemic! Credit to the owners and the cleaners. Thank you.

  • "This is a beautiful property a real home from home."

Very clean, well equipped, cosy and very quiet. We were met on arrival by the farm dog who is a friendly little chat and he continued to visit us daily. The property is well located for visiting The South Lakes. Plus lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. We will definitely be booking this property again.

  • "This was a beautiful, massive cottage."

Well supplied with everything you need to make it home for a week. Even though its not far from a dual carriage way, its very quiet, and the farm is also quiet. We will be using them again.

Had everything we needed to make our stay welcoming and comfortable. Daily visits from the 2 farm dogs was very welcomed by us all. Very close to so many local attractions. Even though was on a working farm there was very little noise and caused us no problems. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone

  • "The photos you post flattered the location."

ie. It only shows the property and not the old cow shed alongside. Your cleaners are not up to the job (I found a visa card for a mr brown under seat cushion along with several peanuts and it must have been there since September) the rest of the seats were just as bad, there was cobwebs above and at the side of the fridge freezer. Otherwise it was very good

Kitchen facilities great - everything we needed, bathroom nice and beds really comfy. near to main road and a 2 minute drive to Booths supermarket so all very handy. outdoor space / garden to rear beyond parking area was a little precarious to navigate in dark so definitely needed torches that were provided to let dogs out for night time wee, other than that very nice. thank you

Handy enclosed garden area for toileting the dog early morning/late night, also somewhere to take the dog for a longer walk directly from the cottage. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed throughout our stay. Would highly recommend.
