  • "We met Gaynor on arrival she showed us around the property and informed us of all the amenities and left us to settle in."

We were all very happy with the layout and felt very comfortable. We found the area to be very quite and relaxing, lovely garden at back of property plus a nice big grassed area as you come into the drive. Nice track walk for the dogs plus an enclosed field for off lead play next door to the properties. Settle was about 8 mins in the car nice meal at The Royal Oak pub Weather had been very unsettled but it did not stop us getting out each day.

  • "The property was well done and plenty big enough for four of us."

The beds were comfy, as were the sofas. There wasn’t a folder with local information, which would have been useful. We also thought that Instructions about recycling and how to use the TV were needed. There wasn’t anyone to meet us when we arrived in the dark. The courtyard wasn’t lit, we ended up knocking on two other doors before we found ours. It would be really useful to have somewhere to put toiletries in the bathroom. A small shelf or cupboard would fit in easily. Hooks on the doors would be good. There wasn’t enough space to dry the towels. Which were lovely and soft and really big. We would have liked a pan scrubber in the kitchen. We did a baked dish one night and cleaning the dish was very hard and involved lots of soaking. Thank you for providing a washer and drier. Thinking about the price of electricity at the moment, a clothes airer would be useful and save costs. The above are small points which would have moved our stay from 95% to 100%. Saying that we still enjoyed our stay and found the accommodation comfy and warm. We did some lovely walks

Location is great. Close to some of the best countryside in the UK. Malham Cove, Grassington, etc all very close. Ingleborough walkable from the cottage (if you can do 14 miles in a day). House very clean and comfortable with great fixtures and finishes. Stayed before and hope to do so again.

An added 'bonus' was the 'dog walk' which was nearby to a stream where the grandchildren had great fun and were able to swim. Also, the shop in Austwick namely Crossleigh Stores, stocked everything you would require, and the owners were extremely helpful, and were willing to order anything you required. Would love to return.

The cottage is so spacious well laid out every detail thought of. The owners were lovely and went out of their way to sort things out when we landed on friday. Great views didn't want to come home! Great area. Space on the farm to walk around with the dog. Underfloor heating which was so nice to come into after walking in the cold! We will be booking again for next year. Cracking holiday.

Great location with lovely views. No complaints really. Just a few little things which would make it 5/5 rather than 4/5 eg. lighting is poor in the lounge, just needs a couple of standing/side lamps, main bed is a bit too soft. No recycling of paper, plastic but that may be the local council.

It had everything that you could possibly need. The owners have thought of everything - even down to an area specifically for walking the dogs!! I was a bit concerned when the description of the garden was "fully enclosed", thinking it may not be secure for my dog, especially as it is on a working farm. I was very pleasantly surprised and happy to find that not only was the garden totally secure it was beautifully laid out. The photographs do not do this property justice.

  • "We had a wonderful week's holiday at Orcaber Cottage."

The cottage itself - which is actually a wing of the farmhouse - is beautiful and the welcoming touches which had been provided added to our initial impressions. There were lovely flowers on the table, a bowl of sweets, milk in the fridge, coffee sachets, tea bags etc. The furnishings were both very attractive and also comfortable - eg the lovely, soft throw on the settee, which our young grandson loved wrapping himself in. The bedrooms are super - the large double ensuite, with a great shower room, was amazing, with views across the fields where the horses and sheep grazed, the smaller double and the single room were really comfortable, with plenty of storage/hanging space in the double and a large cupboard in the single, and a shared bathroom with a huge bath as well as a shower. We really enjoyed the garden, with its large table, and plenty of space to play games of boules and croquet, or to just sit and enjoy an early evening drink. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was a bonus having a downstairs loo. It was fun being on a farm, where the 'dog walk' (although we don't have a dog!) takes you around the fields where the Shetland pony and horses graze, and along the riverside. We have tended to avoid holiday cottages where the owners live on site (partly as we are quite a noisy family!) but this was perfect. Gaynor and Neil are helpful but not in any way intrusive - and the thick stone walls means that once you are in the cottage you are unaware of others living in the farm house and the two other holiday cottages. Our grandson was introduced to the two geese by Gaynor, and loved feeding them, along with the free ranging hens! We all - 3 adults and an 8 year old - were incredibly impressed by the standard of comfort, attractiveness and cleanliness of the cottage and loved the local area too. We can't recommend this highly enough.

Set up really well for our arrival with milk and a fire ready to go. We lost our teabags and thought the office next door might have a campsite shop, they didn’t but they gave us some of their own - lovely touch. Location is exactly as described in details so a great base for all activities in the Dales. Beautiful simple decorations impeccable cleanliness. One thing we would have liked is more knives and forks, just one per person so we had to wash them between courses - but that’s a suggestion not a criticism. We all thought this was a brilliant well looked after and comfortable cottage.
