So much thought and attention was put into this place making it feel like home from home. Peaceful and quiet location and great to see the horses being trained early in the morning. Rear garden with patio table is in the sunshine most of the day so ideal for lunch and bbq’s and a food the lane is the caravan park and hardly knew it was there. 20 minute walk to Austwick which was has a couple of good restaurants/ recommend The Traddock with 3 AA rosettes. Award winning cheese shop close by and location handy for exploring the Dales.Underfloor heating we turned down as the temperature was too high and would recommend. The cottage we stayed in can accommodate 6. Stairs too steep for our elderly lab and there’s a pet gate at the bottom to stop visits during the night. Highly recommend and good value.

During our stay we chose a mixture of lazy days, cooking, wine and Sky TV in comfort with the log burner and wood was provided. We had a couple of days out to visit Burnley shopping and Blackpool which was fab. I can't recommend this enough to people. It was a lovely week away and did not break the bank. • "The property was well done and plenty big enough for four of us."

The beds were comfy, as were the sofas. There wasn’t a folder with local information, which would have been useful. We also thought that Instructions about recycling and how to use the TV were needed. There wasn’t anyone to meet us when we arrived in the dark. The courtyard wasn’t lit, we ended up knocking on two other doors before we found ours. It would be really useful to have somewhere to put toiletries in the bathroom. A small shelf or cupboard would fit in easily. Hooks on the doors would be good. There wasn’t enough space to dry the towels. Which were lovely and soft and really big. We would have liked a pan scrubber in the kitchen. We did a baked dish one night and cleaning the dish was very hard and involved lots of soaking. Thank you for providing a washer and drier. Thinking about the price of electricity at the moment, a clothes airer would be useful and save costs. The above are small points which would have moved our stay from 95% to 100%. Saying that we still enjoyed our stay and found the accommodation comfy and warm. We did some lovely walks

It had everything that you could possibly need. The owners have thought of everything - even down to an area specifically for walking the dogs!! I was a bit concerned when the description of the garden was "fully enclosed", thinking it may not be secure for my dog, especially as it is on a working farm. • "We had a wonderful week's holiday at Orcaber Cottage."

The cottage itself - which is actually a wing of the farmhouse - is beautiful and the welcoming touches which had been provided added to our initial impressions. There were lovely flowers on the table, a bowl of sweets, milk in the fridge, coffee sachets, tea bags etc. The furnishings were both very attractive and also comfortable - eg the lovely, soft throw on the settee, which our young grandson loved wrapping himself in. The bedrooms are super - the large double ensuite, with a great shower room, was amazing, with views across the fields where the horses and sheep grazed, the smaller double and the single room were really comfortable, with plenty of storage/hanging space in the double and a large cupboard in the single, and a shared bathroom with a huge bath as well as a shower. We really enjoyed the garden, with its large table, and plenty of space to play games of boules and croquet, or to just sit and enjoy an early evening drink. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was a bonus having a downstairs loo. It was fun being on a farm, where the 'dog walk' (although we don't have a dog!) takes you around the fields where the Shetland pony and horses graze, and along the riverside. We have tended to avoid holiday cottages where the owners live on site (partly as we are quite a noisy family!) but this was perfect. Gaynor and Neil are helpful but not in any way intrusive - and the thick stone walls means that once you are in the cottage you are unaware of others living in the farm house and the two other holiday cottages. Our grandson was introduced to the two geese by Gaynor, and loved feeding them, along with the free ranging hens! We all - 3 adults and an 8 year old - were incredibly impressed by the standard of comfort, attractiveness and cleanliness of the cottage and loved the local area too. We can't recommend this highly enough.
