  • "This was a fabulous place to stay."

Very warm and clean, and everything was very high quality which made our stay extreme comfortable.

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay at Prospect House, the property was ideal for our needs and very comfortable to relax in."

We loved the big garden which was perfect for our dog and there was plenty to do nearby and further afield. Feedback - we all tried to work the microwave but it seemed to have a mind of it's own so we failed on that front! the Aga was lovely but we had to leave the windows and doors open as it was too hot, I'm sure it would be nice in the winter. And as per previous review water was puddling on the floor of the shower room so hopefully someone can look at that before it becomes a problem. Overall we loved the cottage and loved the village and hope to be back one day. Thank you!

  • "Wonderful cottage."

Most pleased for the milk etc.. that was there on arrival. One point to note - the bath/shower needs a shower curtain, as a lot of water spilt onto the floor. This is causing damage to the lounge ceiling.

  • "Once again we had a really nice stay in Prospect house, we've been a few times now."

There are lots of fantastic walks without needing the car, the village store is well stocked and there was also as usual a really generous welcome pack. It is a very warm and comfortable house and we love staying there.

  • "A wonderful comfortable house."

Lovely homely feel with great decoration, comfy beds. Great location. Would definitely recommend and revisit. Points to note: The arga was hard to turn down and made the kitchen very hot. A shame that the check out time is so early on a Sunday morning. It meant we had to be up and out. We would have been happy to clean more than we did if we could have access to the house after our walk. When you rent a place for the weekend you kind of want it for the weekend. Just a thought.

There is nothing better after a long walk in the surrounding Dales to come back to the warm homely feel of Prospect House. The village has the benefit of a well renowned pub & restaurant & also a shop/post office. We have stayed at prospect house numerous times & intend to return.

  • "The cottage really has the wow factor and the following is intended as feedback only and is not a complaint."

It would have been nice if some hints and tips could have been left for us. We had to fathom out how to use the oven in the Aga, for instance, and the no doubt very clever microwave was an absolute nightmare to fathom out (we gave up on the frustrating instruction book) All we wanted to do was heat ready meals but it took ages to fathom out how to do such a simple task. Also had to ring to find out how to connect to the Wi-Fi. If there had been instructions that the password was on the back of the router, we wouldn't have had to bother the owner. All in all though these were minor frustrations and we wish we could have stayed another week.

  • "Thank you so much for another lovely."

My daughters joined me for the first weekend and loved Prospect House as much as I do, vowing to return with their own families. The location is perfect for me: many different walks from the house, 2 places to 'eat out', a delightful village shop and post office, an authentic eco shop... and much more. No need to use the car at all!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Prospect House."

It's a spacious, well equipped and tastefully furnished house, in the centre of one of our favourite villages in the Dales. Lots of walks on the doorstep, a great pub with a French chef, and an upmarket restaurant at The Traddock. We would definitely come again. Everything was perfect, except we did struggle with the heating system, and it would have been useful to have some clearer instructions to help with this.

  • "What a fantastic property!"

We booked Prospect House on the way back from a trip to Scotland. It didn’t disappoint, it was cosy, comfortable and most importantly welcoming! The host kindly left us some treats and basics which were appreciated by all the family. Great location in the Dales and Ingleton Falls which is a beautiful walk whatever the weather. We will be back

  • "This was the second visit to Prospect House this year which shows how much we love the house & its location."

Because we had already visited then we knew what to expect & we weren't disappointed, the house was spotlessly clean & well presented. The weather was a bit mixed but we managed to get some walking done in the area, the walk to Clapham was enjoyable & very scenic & tiring to us fair weather hikers so it was lovely to get back to the warm inviting atmosphere of Prospect House. We intend to revisit & are already looking at dates for next year.

  • "The house was beautiful and extremely restful."

Perfect location to detox from work demands and top up the personal positivity. With no car it can be tricky finding a peaceful place, but this covered it for us and was well served by local buses. Being adjacent to the green was lovely too and very close to one of the best pubs in Yorkshire. As for the Aga, no words to describe my delight in cooking. In fact we ate out much less as Aga cooking is the best way to cook. The rooms are well proportioned and very well fitted out, the kitchen has everything and the living room is a haven for reading and relaxation. A lovely unexpected study area was a treat, please don't ever change it. One thing no downstairs loo, this wasn't a problem for us and was a pleasure to go up the beautiful staircase with an amazing view but be mindful if stairs are an issue. We shall be back next year for sure

We were all so comfortable. We were very lucky with the weather and so made use of the garden, we were visited by the horses in the field. The village shop just across the road was fantastic. Even though its roadside parking that was never an issue, lots of spaces. After a long journey to arrive to find lovely treats in the kitchen was just special. We will most certainly stay again.

Beautiful countryside for walks, pretty garden with horses just over the wall. Nice village with good little local shop and bakery just up the road. Lovely thoughtful welcome pack of essentials left for us to enjoy. Well equipped cottage with every item you need to cook a delicious holiday meal.

  • "Prospect house gives you a lovely warm homely feeling as soon as you step through the door, it has an air of quality & is well presented and well maintained."

The lovely secure south facing garden is great on a sunny day & a safe environment for your four legged friend with two friendly horses just over the wall. Everything you need is provided for you for your stay including a four oven AGA which you will soon learn to master. Parking was always available just outside the front door which was great for unloading & loading your car. There are also numerous lovely walks in all directions from the front door with amazing views. Austwick village is very quiet & a magnet for walkers, it has a pub which was closed whilst we were their due to Covid & also a useful Post Office come shop & off license but Settle is only a few miles down the road which has a co op. If you are a dark sky's fan then you're in luck as there are no street lights. We honestly really enjoyed our stay & truly intend to revisit Prospect House again.
