The house includes a porch area for hanging up coats and kicking off boots, so you can get settled into the warm living/dining room; the interior retains some original features, such as beautiful wooden beams and stone flooring, with home comforts of two sofas, a TV and a gas fire to warm tired feet.

The kitchen is small, yet well-equipped with electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer and a washing machine; you will have no problem impressing your guests with your best home-cooked meal.

At the front of Bendigedig there is a decking area with a picnic bench, where you can sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by with your morning coffee.

Explore the local village of Belthorn, which is home to some of the best views looking out over the moors to the Ribble estuary, here you will find a delightful Italian restaurant and a fantastic pub which houses a small convenience store, ideal for picking up any last-minute essentials!

The surrounding countryside offers a plethora of scenic walking and cycling routes, with beautiful scenery at every turn.

Head into the small village of Guide, where you will find excellent amenities such as shops, a post office and traditional pub called The King Edward, a favourite among locals and visitors.

The property also sits just outside Blackburn, which is a great town for a day or night out; catch a performance at one of the three theatres, explore Witton Country Park, try the local food at Blackburn Market or treat yourself to a dinner out at one of the many restaurants.

Preston sits just west of Bendigedig, a livelier city offering plenty of culture and outdoor activities, such as the Harris Museum, Art Gallery and Library, Avenham Park and an abundance of shops and cafés.

About the location

BELTHORN

Blackburn 3.7 miles; Preston 14.9 miles.

The little moorland village of Belthorn is situated to the south-east of Blackburn in Lancashire and is one of the highest villages in the county. The village enjoys stunning views over the moors to the Ribble estuary, Flyde Coast to the west and Pendle Hill to the east. Belthorn was originally a small, traditional coal mining and hand weaving community, but today it is mainly residential, offering an Italian restaurant and a popular pub, The Dog Inn, which also houses a small shop selling fresh bread, milk and vegetables. The surrounding area provides a wealth of walking and cycling routes, and there is a quiet children’s park in the village, perfect for letting the little ones run around. The nearby village of Guide offers greater amenities, including a traditional pub, a post office, a popular Cantonese restaurant and a working men’s club, while further afield rests the industrial town of Blackburn, bursting with history and culture.
