Really well equipped, beautifully kept, friendly neighbours and friendly, helpful host. The cottage is set in a beautiful spot with a lovely little garden and amazing views. If you like a walk there are plenty of options and even a 1.5 mile walk along the canal to Gargrave which has some great local pubs, serving good food, and coffee shops. Definitely recommend.

Location is superb, view from the cottage garden is lovely with the sheep and the cows. The cottage is cosy, homely and extremely well equipped, the beds are soft and comfy with white crisp quality linens. Bathroom is fabulous and the shower is outstanding, its all so clean and well presented. The kitchens extremely well kitted out with good quality white goods and has every utensil you could wish for. Its a five minute walk to the canal which is great for a flat walk and also the walk to Gargrave's local pub, The Masons Arms is a real bonus. I would highly recommend this cottage, Catherine & William are warm and welcoming and the stunning Dales are on your doorstep 11/10. Top quality holiday cottage.

We were told we had to pay in full even if we were not allowed to go and may not get our money back. After much discussion we were allowed to defer until this year. Also you put the price up without telling us. The Nook Cottage was one of the best we have stayed in.

  • "We booked last minute and were fortunate to secure 5 nights in October."

The Cottage was wonderful, warm and extremely well equipped. I would imagine that the cottage would be the perfect spot to locate any time of the year. It is a couple of miles from Gargrave in a hamlet called Bank Newton. Catherine lived close and was a great source of knowledge for local walks as well as walks further afield. The cottage is a stone's throw from the Liverpool-Leeds Canal which has pretty walks in both directions. Airedale, Wharfedale, Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Kettlewell, Malham, Settle, Kettlewell, and numerous other Dales Beauty spots (to say nothing of Tearooms) are nearby. The George at Hubberholme is to be recommended, terrific food, local beer and a genial Mine Host. Buckden, stop off at the George for lunch, Scar House, Cray and back down to Buckden is a lovely walk. Back to the Cottage for tea and some of Catherine's super cake...............what's not to like! ... The Nook is in a perfect location in gorgeous farmland with cows and calves right at the fence, a short walk to the canal with its towpaths, boats and locks. Home from home would describe the cottage with the owner (Catherine) on hand to ensure that we lacked for nothing. The most comfortable bed ever...great WiFi and stunning bathroom. If the virus prevents our Spring 2021 holiday abroad we will be back for sure. We would highly recommend The Nook and this part of Yorkshire.

  • "This was possibly one of our best holidays ever."

My partner and I have fallen in love with the Yorkshire Dales. The 17th century cottage is right in the heart of the countryside, Bank Newton being a tiny hamlet? and the nearest village being Gargrave. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The cottage itself is beautiful and in keeping with a property of that period. I loved the little garden with the arch and the roses, leading straight onto a field of cows. It was lovely to wake up in the morning, open the windows and hear cows and sheep. The bedroom and the living room were so cosy - impossible not to relax here. The kitchen and the bathroom had everything conceivable that one could need. There is a very good farm shop called Keelan that sold fresh, local produce nearby. We did a lot of walking on this holiday, there was always a sense of space, we rarely bumped into anyone. This part of Yorkshire remains unspoiled. I would thoroughly recommend staying at this cottage. The owner was so thoughtful and concerned that we should enjoy our stay. We are already thinking about whether it would be possible to book the same holiday again this time next year.
