  • "WOW!!!"

STUNNING!!! The cottage, garden and surroundings are just beautiful. We didn't want to leave!! We met one of the hosts, Fiona, who was lovely. Everything you could possibly want was provided. Even some emergency sanitary products, so thoughtful. The complimentary shampoo/conditioner was so nice I have ordered some on line! Just perfect! The surrounding area is stunning! A good section of Hadrians wall just up the road. Walks aplenty and Sycamore Gap is breath taking. All in all a wonderful place to stay! Shame its so far..........

  • "Lovely cottage & grounds, old fashioned but with all amenities included, and then some."

Nice views, and easy walking access to bits of Hadrian's Wall. We did 3 of the 4 local/recommended walks (not Cold Fell), all were smashing, very windy on Talkin Fell walk, but we made it. Would visit again if up that way again.

  • "An excellent cottage."

Clean, comfortable and well specced out. It was extremely quiet and this was my hope when I picked it as I wanted to avoid the usual noise of Halloween and Bonfire night and it fitted my purpose perfectly. Karl was very helpful when I contacted him. The location is excellent. One minor gripe, unrelated to the cottage, some of the locals drive way too fast and take up the whole road at times. But, other than that, it was a good stay and I highly recommend it to all.

Very clean on arrival and goodie basket very welcome. Would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a great get away from the hassle and bustle. Even though it is accessible to many destinations such as Carlisle, Gretna Green, Keilder forest and even the Lakes. Will definitely be visiting again soon. 5⭐️
