They asked us to strip the beds and put the sheets and towels etc in black bags but they didn’t provide the bags and we had to go out and buy some.everything else was fine .

  • "The description of the property is misleading."

There isn't 2 bathrooms. There is 1 and a utility room with a toilet in. The utility room needs an iron and a clothes maiden. Washing machine useless as no where to dry clothes. 2nd door into property once closed is a nightmare to open. Utility room door also sticks. The summer house as quoted isn't in use as full of wood, neither is garage. There is damp around kitchen window and a general air of damp. The description says some traffic noise... this is incorrect- traffic noise starts early and continues all day so loud its impossible to leave windows open. Master bedroom fitted sheet was so thin it tore when slept on. This is a lovely little place but the description needs to be updated. It also needs a bit of TLC to the property.

  • "Lilac Cottage is very well appointed with a high level of attention to cleanliness."

All the rooms are of a good size and the beds are all comfortable. The Summer House will be a real plus once renovated and useable with the additional garden space. The cottage is well placed for easy access to Coniston, Bowness and Ulverston which was our first time visiting and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hi Marc, we are very pleased you have enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the feedback, and the summer house is work in progress and will get the work finished in the near future. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage with good mix of the old and new."

Ideally situated for travel to Ambleside, Coniston, Ulveston and Morecombe. Richard very helpfull. A pair of scissors needed in the kitchen. Love the induction cooker. Sykes cottages need to update photos of the sitting room and provide the correct code for the key safe. We arrived in the pouring rain and couldn't get into the cottage until Richard arrived with the correct code.

  • "We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage."

Very clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds and gorgeous bathroom! A good place to relax. Next to a busy road but this didn’t bother us as all. It’s on a quiet lane where we could walk the dog and see lovely views of the Duddon estuary. Front garden small and perhaps a small bench or picnic set would be useful but we loved our time at this cottage. A gateway to the Western Lakes. Would highly recommend.
