    We especially liked the peaceful farm environment, the owners were friendly and helpful. The grandchildren loved the play area and being able to stroke the sheep. The cottage was comfortable - the bedrooms and living areas were good, although getting 8 round the dining table was a bit tight in the kitchen! The kitchen was well equipped. The shower in the wet room was feeble and the hot water variable so it was necessary to use the immersion heater most days. In spite of the variable weather, we had a great holiday and enjoyed exploring the area which was new to us.

A stone-built, semi-detached house located on a working livestock farm in beautiful rolling countryside, just one mile from Bolton-by-Bowland.

Set within spacious grounds, this lovely cottage offers comfortable accommodation, ideal for a family or group of friends to get away from it all and enjoy this beautiful area.

Guests will notice upon entering the cottage that it is furnished to a good standard and well laid out to offer excellent flexibility for all.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor, a master bedroom with a useful en-suite, and two twin bedrooms, one of which can be made up as a super king-size double, as well as a family bathroom.

On the ground floor, a spacious twin bedroom which can also be made up as a super king-size double and a wet room complete the accommodation making it suitable for less-mobile guests.

A well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen and a spacious sitting room with a cosy open fire combine to ensure that guests have good facilities for that well-earned country break.

Doors from the sitting room lead to a lawned garden and a patio with furniture as well as a children’s play area, providing a wonderful spot to gather together on a summer’s day, enjoying the countryside views.

The area around the cottage is wonderful for walking and cycling, with lovely footpaths from the doorstep and Gisburn Forest trails within a few miles.

Bolton-by-Bowland is a tranquil and charming village, featuring a church originally built in the 13th century, tea rooms and a choice of places to eat.

Set the Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and with the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Settle - Carlisle railway, Three Peaks and the west coast within easy reach, this is an ideal holiday base.

A holiday home the children will just love, with a great play area and a chance to watch the animals in the fields.

Bolton-by-Bowland is a pretty working village nestling in the hills and dales of the Ribble Valley, north-east of Clitheroe and west of Skipton. With two village greens, a village hall, cricket club, a shop and a tea room, Bolton-by-Bowland is an excellent village base for a holiday in this area. The surrounding Ribble Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a peaceful and picturesque haven. For amenities, nearby Clitheroe is famed for its specialist shops of all types, including, amongst others, a sausage shop that sells over seventy-five different varieties! The area is a food lover's paradise, with award-winning restaurants and country hotels situated throughout the valley, and annual events including a number of agricultural shows and day festivals of all types.
