  • "The property was well equipped with the kitchen having an array of utensils etc to use throughout your stay."

The whole house is beautifully decorated with lovely touches throughout. We were surprised to be left with so much wood for the log fire, which we really appreciated! There were other extras too and everything was just so lovely. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it!

Lovely welcome package for the group and dog, property was very homely. Beds all very comfy and perfect as we all had our own bathrooms. Lovely chilled week with family and friends would highly recommend and visit again in the future.

  • "Garth End is set in a beautiful little village, with a lovely pub next door with an open fire & great food!"

We stayed for a week for my 50th birthday! The house has everything you need! We gathered around the island while each couple took it in turns to cook! We played games! You don’t feel like your on top of each other as you have the main lounge with the wood burner (you can buy logs over the road) or you have the snug which is so comfy! The house is immaculate, we did not want to leave!

  • "The property is pristine and a joy to stay in but in order to protect it I feel a washing off facility for walking boots and soggy doggies would be of benefit."

Every other angle was covered and there were so many thoughtful extras . We had a great time .

  • "We loved the cottage and felt that lots of attention to detail was provided, it was lovely and clean, had great utensils and equipment and extras like candles and treats for us and our pets."

Part of what sold the property to us was the fact that it was advertised as having a pub next door. Unfortunately the pub was closed during our week stay. We’d planned to eat breakfast here and have dinner there too. It did have an impact because we had to travel in two / three vehicles to get food including takeaways and it was my 50th birthday celebration. I appreciate we hired the cottage not the pub, but it was advertised with a pub next door. Overall we still had a great time, the pub would have made it fantastic!!

A lot of thought has gone into making guests and their dogs feel welcome. It’s location is great for visiting all areas of the lakes and dales and being next door to the village pub is very convenient. We would love to visit again, definitely five star.

  • "Fabulous and high quality accommodation that was beautifully presented and exceptionally clean."

A welcome pack for our party including the dog was a lovely touch. The accommodation included a wide range of well considered items such as blankets for use outside or on the sofas, picnic equipment and a range of candle holders and tableware that made the house feel like a home. Location was ideal for exploring the lakes and local towns. The pub next door provides excellent meals to eat in or take back to the cottage. Highly recommended. A big ‘Thankyou’ to the owner for sharing her house with us and making our holiday possible.

We found it to be very conveniently located for touring the Lake District, Pennines, Hadrian's Wall, and much more. The cottage is extremely comfortable with high end decor, with ample space for a family or several couples. We particularly enjoyed the two different reception rooms on the ground floor and the en-suite bathrooms upstairs. Beds and furnishings are extremely comfortable. Lisa was a very kind, conscientious, and responsive host. We really appreciated all her personal touches. We felt very welcome and would not hesitate to return to this cottage!

It was well situated for visiting Lakes or dining around in the multitude of great pubs nearby. A special mention to the New Crown Inn just next door, fabulous food and great service. It is well situated in a small village next to a pub where the landlord is very welcoming. The pub is the village local serving good food and drinks and its proximity is convenient but causes no disturbance. The cottage owner, Lisa, is very attentive and has thought of just about everything you could possibly need for a lovely holiday. This property is probably one of the best that we have ever stayed in, a full 5 star experience.
