  • "A great place to stay that was an ideal base to visit the Lancashire coast and the Lake District."

Lovely to come home everyday and sit on the patio watching the boats come and go and feeding the ducks.

  • "This was a wonderful experience for our family."

The dog bed, towel, and little treat bag were truly above and beyond our expectations. The cleanliness, state of repair and presentation of the property make it feel like it was built only a year or two ago, which, as a former five star residential property manager, I know is no small feat! A photo of the second bedroom should be included in the listing; we nearly didn't book because of this... but are pleased we did.... In the event we were very comfortable with both bedrooms, the second one was clean and spacious too with two good quality beds in it and ample furniture. A wonderful location as a base for exploring the North West, especially Morecombe Bay and the Lake District. We will be back!

Treats towel mat & dishes available to use. Our only issue was , when we asked where we could walk dog at night were told to take out of their grounds to tow path . Not safe at night especially for women to take dogs for last toilet trip. Area pitch black & slippy mud. They could create a small fenced patch of grass with bins & lighting for this purpose. As it was we picked up poup from other dog from the grass outside our apartment.

  • "We received a call from Tewitfield Marina on the Friday 27th August before we were due to arrive on the 28th August regarding problems with their laundry supplier, they asked us to take bed linen, towels and tea towels which according to your description was included."

The bed was king size, we only had bed linen for a double bed which we took, i managed to stretch the fitted sheet and the duvet just doubled at the edges of the cover. We feel that we should be compensated for the added pressure of having to sort this out when we had already packed ready to set off the next day and you advertised this as all bed linen etc included when it wasn't.

Pleasantly surprised at the spaceciousness of the accommodation, very clean, booking was simple, listing was accurate, furniture was clean and comfortable, excellent location with easy access to the Lakes and the Yorkshire moors. Little bit of noise from the motorway but we knew about that in advance and it did mean that the accomomodation was only 5 minutes from the motorway exit.

It was lovely being able to sit outside watching the ducks, swans and the boats. The only downside was the hardness of the pillows and dining chairs, but that is personal preference anyway. A supermarket was very easy to get to and we had some really nice walks by the canal..

We were able to watch people working on their boats. We were very close to the pub, which was dog friendly. We were able to eat in the bar with our staffie. The whole area was dog friendly and we appreciated the welcome pack, comfy bed, towel and dishes provided for the dog. Everything we needed, and more, was in the apartment. There were even chairs and a table outside for relaxing and watching the world go by.

  • "Having stayed in many cottages, apartments around the UK it was a nice surprise that this one exceeded our expectations."

It is actually undersold as on the listing it states gas cooker and electric hob which as most of us know isn't a good combination, yet in fact when you arrive, its a pleasant surprise to see its a gas hob and electric grill and oven, perfect and easy to use. On the photos which do not do the apartment justice, to some potential guests a small tv in the living room is not what they prefer, arrive, and see a large wall mounted television. Bedrooms are large and spacious, I thought the double bed was comfortable, and the en suite shower again easy to operate and without having to mess about trying to find the correct temperature unlike in most other rentals. TVs in both bedrooms to if you like that. Good walk to Carnforth along the canal which you can join in a minute or two, though its further than you might think, pity some walks to get to local places don't have footpaths along the busy A roads, not good with kids. Local pub is great, large bar area, Sky Sports, great food, and plenty outside seating at front and back, a 2 min walk away. Greenlands farm over the road might suit families with small children, hands on with the animals, and a large play barn for them, not cheap I thought but still can be a good day out to some. Butchers and Wine shop there are both first class, look out for the bargains. Kings Arms a couple of miles up the road was our fav pub, though you would have to use the car or get the bus, no walking there along that road, cannot see how anybody would not like it, great local produced food, great real ale too, New Inn at Yealands, smart, Malt Shovel at Warton all worth a visit and a walk to these places. Carnforth was hit and miss for us, though the supermarkets are there, but again, yes we like to visit pubs on these holidays, a good pub, the Canal Turn, worth the long walk to get to it, stay on the canal to arrive there, great outdoor seating with great views of the water and wildlife. Was disappointed with the prices of real ale around these parts, £3.90 a pint in the Junction in Carnforth, and please do not go in that dump! All in all, a very good week, a very good apartment, would stay there again without a doubt.

  • "It was nice that there are blackout curtains on the bedroom windows, but very sad that there was a cheap ironing board with a too big cover on it, making it impossible to iron my top."

There was no instructions for the washing machine either it went on for hours wasting water and electricity, there was no indication either that it was also a dryer, which shrunk my leggings, we also had to buy air fresheners because the last people that stayed in it stunk the place out with foreign food, other wise yes if the price is lower than the Tewitfield prices we would still book again with yourselves.

  • "The location of the cottage was excellent."

Just a few minutes away from the M6 but we felt that we were in the heart of the countryside. We enjoyed sitting on our deck and watching the narrow boat go by on the canal. We were able to walk to the adjacent pub for a drink or a meal, where they served excellent food. Groceries and other supplies were just a short drive away in Carnforth. 10 Swan House is a very well equipped and we enjoyed our stay very much. I would recommend a walk along the tow path of the abandoned section of the canal, very picturesque.

Cant blame you for the bad weather. The apartment was very clean. And every thing we needed was there.. The problems were no shops on site. The double bed. I felt I was sleeping on a cliff. The mattress has seen days. had to put pillows under me to bring the mattress up.. Not very good bed.. They are the only complaints I have with the holiday.. The roads there were my fault . Did not realize how far it was And all the motor ways I had to use to get there. Wont be going there again..

The ensuite shower included lots of lovely white towels & was brilliant for our friend who is unable to use a bath, from their big master bedroom were views over the canal basin. Our friends found it quite amusing, on opening their bedroom blinds on the Ist morning being able to watch the antics of the resident ducks going about their business!!. We had a very comfortable 2nd bedroom which is next to the family bathroom which also had good selection of white towels, the second bedroom overlooks the rear and yes there is some background motorway noise, but not enough to put us off returning. Downstairs there is a good sized cloakroom & a large well serviced open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with doors opening out to a balcony, on the balcony is a table & 4 chairs where we sat on many occassions enjoying breakfast, watching the boats & ducks & chatting to the many walkers out for a stroll, good to have views over the canal basin and we found people on the canal boats very friendly. There are lovely walks for dogs & this cottage will accept a small well behaved dog. Although there is one designated parking bay for the cottage, there are other spaces to park another further up the development and provided in the cottage are Two laminated Private Parking signs to display on cars when required. Carnforth is a good base for exploring the Lakes, Blackpool, Morecombe & surrounding areas. All in all a very relaxing holiday.
