“Having stayed in many cottages, apartments around the UK it was a nice surprise that this one exceeded our expectations.”
It is actually undersold as on the listing it states gas cooker and electric hob which as most of us know isn't a good combination, yet in fact when you arrive, its a pleasant surprise to see its a gas hob and electric grill and oven, perfect and easy to use. On the photos which do not do the apartment justice, to some potential guests a small tv in the living room is not what they prefer, arrive, and see a large wall mounted television. Bedrooms are large and spacious, I thought the double bed was comfortable, and the en suite shower again easy to operate and without having to mess about trying to find the correct temperature unlike in most other rentals. TVs in both bedrooms to if you like that.
Good walk to Carnforth along the canal which you can join in a minute or two, though its further than you might think, pity some walks to get to local places don't have footpaths along the busy A roads, not good with kids.
Local pub is great, large bar area, Sky Sports, great food, and plenty outside seating at front and back, a 2 min walk away. Greenlands farm over the road might suit families with small children, hands on with the animals, and a large play barn for them, not cheap I thought but still can be a good day out to some.
Butchers and Wine shop there are both first class, look out for the bargains.
Kings Arms a couple of miles up the road was our fav pub, though you would have to use the car or get the bus, no walking there along that road, cannot see how anybody would not like it, great local produced food, great real ale too, New Inn at Yealands, smart, Malt Shovel at Warton all worth a visit and a walk to these places. Carnforth was hit and miss for us, though the supermarkets are there, but again, yes we like to visit pubs on these holidays, a good pub, the Canal Turn, worth the long walk to get to it, stay on the canal to arrive there, great outdoor seating with great views of the water and wildlife. Was disappointed with the prices of real ale around these parts, £3.90 a pint in the Junction in Carnforth, and please do not go in that dump!
All in all, a very good week, a very good apartment, would stay there again without a doubt.
