This modern, luxury lodge is located in Hillcroft Park caravan/lodge site, with just a short walk to Pooley Bridge and Lake Ullswater.
Retreat Lodge is a beautiful place for a family holiday, with luxury accommodation, including a hot tub, and its perfect setting in Hillcroft Park with all the activities on site.
The stylish and welcoming open plan lounge, diner and kitchen has doors which lead straight out onto the terrace, and a TV, iPod docking station and DVD player provide entertainment for an afternoon in.
The modern kitchen has everything you need for a delicious family dinner, with a pleasant dining area.
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, and an en-suite wet room with a WC and basin.
There’s also a wall-mounted television for lazy mornings in bed – if the kids will let you!
A twin room that’s perfect for the kids also has its own wall-mounted TV, and there’s a lovely family bathroom with a shower over the bath, a WC, a hand basin, and a heated towel rail.
The lodge has plenty of trees and greenery surrounding it, and its own terrace with a hot tub.
There are plenty of amenities at Hillcroft Park, and you could quite easily have a brilliant holiday without even leaving the local area.
The Park has an onsite shop, open during the Summer, and a children’s play area.
Rookin House adventure centre is nearby for quad biking, horse riding, and even trying your hand at operating a JCB!
Lake Ullswater is within walking distance and has a variety of water sports centres, and Pooley Bridge is packed with shops, cafes, and bars that are open for the Summer season.
Or for a slower paced holiday, you could sail on the Ullswater Steamers, take a leisurely stroll, picnic in the spectacular countryside or on the shores of the Lake, and indulge in a delicious cream tea in one of the many tea rooms.
If you do decide to explore beyond the local area, there are many picturesque little villages to explore, or hike over the fells in the National Park if you’re feeling energetic.
A short drive takes you to Windermere Lake and the village, or Ambleside, and the trip over Kirkstone Pass to get there is worth getting away from the Park on its own.
Staying at the lodge with its luxury accommodation and many attractions and things for the family to do on the doorstep makes for a perfect family break, whatever the weather.
