Great location with Grizedale just up the road & Hawkshead not too far, great for cycling & walking. Some lovely pubs nearby we tried the Eagles head & The Manor House. Greystones caters for every need with very attentive owners. Hopefully one day we will be back!

Thank you so much for your kind comments about the house. So pleased you also enjoyed the local pubs. Property Owner

  • "What a cracking location and a cracker of a house."

Before we arrived, David contacted us in advance as a way of introduction and again on the day we arrived to ensure everything was in order. No need to worry as the house is super clean, complete with everything you could possibly need. Helpful notes around the house to guide you with any unfamiliar appliances etc. The inside is super comfortable and fresh cut flowers on our arrival. Such a wonderful peaceful location with tons of parking too! Thanks again Pam and David for allowing us to have a wonderful week.

  • "3rd time we've stayed at this property, we absolutely love it."

A real home from home with the added benefit of some lovely walks right from the doorstep. The property is clean, tidy and well presented. It is well equipped, with everything required and at hand to cater for a couple of a larger family. It's also very dog friendly. Pub nearby but it's advisable to book for meals. I would also recommend the Cuckoo brow Inn at Far Sawrey for food.

In addition to its magical setting, this property offers a welcoming ambience, with comfortable furniture, stunning views, generous living space and three lovely bedrooms.

Approached by a private drive, the cottage has off-road parking for three cars, making loading and unloading an easy task; stepping inside, the entrance hall has plenty of space for walking gear, perfect for housing your belongings away from the main living areas.

Venturing through, discover the light and airy sitting room, flooded with natural light welcomed in through the patio doors and housing a warming open fire; a lovely spot for a lazy evening in front of the television following a day of adventure.

Be charmed by the amply-equipped kitchen, a chef's dream, housing all of the essential amenities and fitted with elegant worktops and a stylish breakfast bar.

Cook up a storm and gather together around the grand table taking centre stage in the neighbouring dining room, or head outdoors for a spot of alfresco dining on the colourful patio; on a warm summers evening, why not fire up the barbeque?

When sleep calls, climb the stairs to the first floor where you'll find a spacious family bathroom alongside three thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms, a king-size, fitted with its own en-suite shower room, a double and a twin, each framing picture-perfect views of the surrounding countryside.

There's a plethora of walking and cycling trails leading directly from your doorstep, with the property encompassed by the scenic landscape of the Lake District National Park; enjoy a leisurely stroll along the banks of Coniston Water, or lace up your boots and tackle the challenging climb to the summit of Scaffel Pike, the tallest mountain in England.

Jump in the car and visit the nearby village of Hawkshead, home to an array of essential amenities, including high-street and independent shops, perfect for picking up a keepsake to remind you of your fantastic holiday, as well as a handful of delicious eateries, promising to serve something to suit every taste and budget.

Venture further afield and visit the tranquil waters of the world-renowned Lake Windermere, the largest lake in the country, where thrill seekers can tackle the waters with a session in stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking, or if that's not your thing, board the lake cruise and explore the tourist towns of Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside.

Enjoy this beautiful part of the Lake District with a stay at Greystones.

Satterthwaite enjoys a peaceful, picturesque location between the lakes of Coniston and Windermere, just south of Hawkshead village. The sleepy hamlet is surrounded by a natural playground of stunning landscapes to explore; a great base for walking and outdoor adventure as well as for escaping the everyday rush.
To the north, Grizedale Forest is an intriguing network of walking routes, cycle paths and sculpture trails. Lake Windermere lies to the east, and a car-ferry crossing can take you across the lake to explore the lively attractions of Bowness village.
