  • "Second time we have stayed there - settee in lounge getting a bit tired but everything else fine."

My wife lost a nose stud somewhere - we think the front bedroom - so if that is found that would be great

  • "Our party of 5 had a very comfortable and relaxed stay of 4 nights."

The house is spacious and well equipped. Very comfortable beds. Set in a beautiful part of the country with great walks straight from the door. Several local pubs doing good food and beer.

  • "Great rural location, lovely cottage with plenty of space."

The cottage had everything we needed in it and we had a cot and high chair supplied. All facilities where good and clean. (Kitchen, bathroom etc) but good do with a deep clean to get rid of all the cobwebs and spiders! There aren't any homely ornaments at the property but that suited us with kids as we usually have to move them out the way. Kids loved seeing the sheep walk passed the gate. And looking at pheasants

3 very comfortable double bedrooms upstairs together with a snug which is great for children to play. Please note that some reviews have stated that there isn't a tumble dryer but this is to be found in the lockable garage/bike store. Would definitely recommend.

The only problem is the TV. Unfortunately at night when we wanted to watch some TV the screen kept going off and we just had sound. It really does need sorting. My daughter would like to go again but won't until the TV would be sorted.

  • "The cottage is in a beautiful location and has easy access to key sites around Windermere."

It is comfortable, very clean and has lots of space for a family on holiday. It is simply but tastefully decorated, without lots of ornaments (something that I appreciate as a parent of young kids!). Our children loved the ‘snug’ room. The kitchen is well equipped to make your own meals and has a very good size freezer. Bedrooms are comfortable and restful. The owner lives next door and was friendly and helpful. I was surprised that there was no house guide or guest book as in most holiday cottages and this would be a helpful addition to the cottage. The listing also included a tumble drier and there wasn’t one in the cottage. But otherwise it was a fantastic cottage that we’d recommend to others and visit again.

  • "We, a family of four from Holland, stayed in Goswick Hall for a week."

We couldn't believe our eyes when we drove up te the property. De rocky meadows around the house where sheep grazed, the stunning view, and the sturdy house, it blew our minds. The house was roomy and the beds very comfortable. The owner was very friendly, helpful and easy going. We loved the scenery in the lakes and I hope we will return. If we do, we definitely come to Goswick Hall again!

  • "Lovely cottage in a quiet area but easily accessible and just a short drive from Windermere."

Fully equipped with everything you may need including a hairdryer in every bedroom and a DVD player in the lounge not mentioned in the property description on the website. Friendly owner lives next door - apart from that the closest neighbours are sheep! We spent a lovely week there and wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend. A note about the rubbish recycling (what goes where) would be helpful.

  • "Lovely cottage in a fab location."

The furnishings and decor are well used and dated but suits the location perfectly, the beds are super comfortable, best nights sleep ever! Funny smell in the bedrooms and upstairs, had to buy diffusers to help mask the smell and both showers could do with their drains being cleaned out after each family has been. The plug in the sink in main bathroom was stuck in so sink useable for the whole week - we've reported this to the owner who we met just as we were leaving at the end of the week. Mason Arms lives up to its reputation, lovely food and nice bar staff. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

  • "This was an excellent holiday let with really good facilities and a brilliant location."

All was really tidy and clean and everything that we tried worked well. There's really good parking and two good pub/restaurants in easy walking distance. Views are outstanding and this is a really peaceful area of the lakes with plenty of good walking close by. Downsides - the only very minor problems were that the locks on the bathroom/loo doors didn't work but overcome with loud singing or whistling. Also the window in the upstairs sitting room didn't close properly but that is something that can easily be remedied. We all had a great stay.

The house was well furnished, spacious and warm, with everything we needed for a relaxing long weekend. Jim, the owner, was friendly and available for help/advice if needed. Wonderful scenery all around and very peaceful. The Mason's Arms is literally just up the hill and we had a fabulous meal there. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

  • "Lovely place to stay."

Handy for Windermere, Cartmel and Lakes attractions but well away from the crowds. Two splendid pubs within walking distance. Having storage for our bikes was a big plus. Owner is warm and friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. If you're looking for solitude but don't want to head deep into Cumbria it's certainly worth a visit.

  • "Beautiful conversion very spacious."

Owner was very nice. We has yo book on the day as our origial cottage was inaccessible dye to flooding. The description didn't mention a DVD player we would have taken some with us had we known. Only thing lacking was information in the conversion about the local area we have never stayed anyway which hasn't provided local walks and maps before. This is just a suggestion not a complaint.

  • "Lovely holiday cottage, owners live next door, very friendly and chatty."

In an ideal get away from it all rural location. The cottage has nice sized rooms all round. Had some problems with the internet connection and had to keep turning it off and on again. Although the cottage was generally clean there were lots of cobwebs that had been missed and squashed flies on the front bedroom ceiling. Also the drain for the shower upstairs needs a really good scrub because it was VERY slow running and dirty. Whilst there are lots of restrictions due to Covid we did expect there to be at least a pint of milk waiting for us on arrival but there was nothing except a bit of handsoap, washing up liquid, dishcloth and 2 toilet rolls. The note from the cleaners in the kitchen window said there was a bottle of spray disinfectant in the cupboard...there was not! The cottages we have stayed in before have supplied a small welcome food tray...tea, sugar, coffee and basic cleaning products. Again this may have been stopped due to Covid but if not perhaps it should be considered. Thankyou for the use of this holiday cottage. We will recommend it to our friends and family and would love to stay again some day

It was very comfortable for the two of us. There is plenty of quiet walking (not too strenuous) close by and Gummers Howe is just down the lane. The only criticism is that the TV and DVD player are passable but could do with updating for the odd evening that we stayed in.

We arrived to a cold house, no instructions how to use the house only a card telling us what to do when we leave. After giving the house a good clean we were able to enjoy our stay, especially as it turned out to be a warm house. I suggest you reimburse me at least 25% for my time and inconvenience sorting the house out. This is not what I expect from Your company, we have stayed in large houses, small houses on our own or as a 10 and we are booked again in September, near Ellesmere, Shropshire. Our stays are not always in our name. We have enjoyed everyone. I have taken pictures of the bowl full of dirty water, the used plaster, hair band etc, if you think I am making this up. As I said you need to change your cleaners. Am I angry? YES!!!
