  • "It’s a fantastic location especially if you don’t want drive about."

The flat is ok but if you’re taking a dog, there’s no real outdoor space just a car port which isn’t ideal. The flat is ok but it has a musty smell, the crockery is chipped, the frying pan handle is about to fall off any moment and in the bedroom paint is peeling off the walls. I dropped the remote down the sofa and needed to lift a cushion, it was filthy, as is under the sofa and the bed. The whole flat (which isn’t big) needs a thorough deep clean. Saying all this, if a bit of TLC was applied it would be lovely. They’ve tried to address the damp with damp collection things and the shower is fantastic. It’s warm and cosy and has so much potential. It’s so close to all the amenities, and great that it has its own parking. Great for a couple or a single person and if like me you do loads of driving, it gives you the opportunity to park up for the entire trip!

  • "The best thing about this place is the location which is brilliant."

The only downside is if you are taking a dog, there’s a lot of people walking past late at night from bars, so ours barked quite a bit. The pictures on here look very bright and airy. In reality this is not the case, it’s very dark and dingy and has a really weird foisty smell. There’s damp in the bedroom near the bed. The shower was good and powerful but they ask you to open a window… it is ground floor and there’s a car parking space directly outside for another apartment. All in all, we didn’t really enjoy the stay but as I said before the location is brilliant.

Everything we needed was provided at the property. Everything was clean apart from under the bed wasn’t cleaned considering the bed is quite tall, but understand this can get missed. Lovely to have a car parking space at the property. Was a shame that there was a lot of footfall and noise due to building work but that’s not the fault of the property. We would definitely stay again.

The radiators in the bedroom and lounge area did not come on when the heating did and we see from other reviews this has been an issue which has not been dealt with. The WiFi doesn't work so TV is limited and computer we took was not able to connect. The bathroom has patches of mold on the tiles and there is a note asking guests to shower with the window open as a result of condensation.( Not ideal in December, or in view of privacy as there is no blind and it's ground floor.) Bed is comfortable.light in bedroom not useable as it flickers constantly. Flat is nicely appointed but photos are deceptive as it's actually dark , no natural light in bedroom. Nicely situated with good variety of shops and bars nearby, probably very nice in summer but we were too cold cut stay short as a result. Most disappointing to note all these issues had been pointed out by previous guests but not sorted out. Could be very comfy but needs attention

Parking was a little awkward but once parked we weren`t going to move the car again so it was fine.... The apartment is adequate for 2 people and very well equipped Sofa and beds clean and very comfortable Ingenious space saving clothes storage in the bedroom very quirky We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return We did read poor reviews and were a little concerned about dampness and a mouldy bathroom This however was not the case during our stay as bathroom, floors, kitchen and cooker were all immaculate and despite the radiator in the living room not working the whole place was very warm once heating was on No problems at all I guess the owners noted reviews and acted accordingly

  • "On arrival the property felt cold, dark and damp."

We struggled on the first day to get the heating to work and on the second day a heating engineer was sent out to us who managed to get the heating working apart from the radiator in the lounge. There is wifi at the property but we could not find the password in the welcome pack. The bedroom felt dark as the ceiling light flickered when on full and natural light was blocked by the gate which was fully open to the side of the property and covered the window. The pictures on the website appeared light and bright - this was not our experience. In a small property there were 3 condensation pots, 3 gel air freshers and a plug in air freshener. The bathroom had patches of mould on the ceiling - we were told this had been treated and was awaiting painting. The bathroom window needs a blind as the shower unit is in front of it.The sealant also needs replacing around the shower unit. We don't want to leave a review full of all negatives, so positives of the property are its location, the kitchen area is pleasant, the kitchen appliances were clean, the sofa and the bed were comfortable. After reporting the heating issues and many mould patches in the property, we sent in photos to Sykes. We asked to be relocated but agreed a cleaner would come in and a further engineer to look at the radiator in the lounge. The next day we were told this would now not happen and were sent properties to be relocated to. After choosing a property to move to, we felt hopeful that the last 2 days of our holiday could be enjoyed. Unfortunately, we were then told by Sykes that we were required to pay a further £191 --this was taking into account the refund for the two nights, so it would of been nearly £400 to be moved for 2 nights which we did not feel was reasonable. We decided to leave the property and be refunded for the last two nights of our holiday. Overall a very disappointing few days with the issues at the property and the service we received from Sykes.

The rugs were horrific with dirt and visible stains, some of the furnishings were damaged and stained too. The light in the bedroom had a dimmer but would not be suitable for anyone with photo sensitive epilepsy as it was like a disco light flashing on and off.
