Everything was up to the usual excellent standard. Cant think of anything we would need that wasn't provided. Would recommend.

It has everything we could need for our holiday and we love that it is walkable to go into the centre of Bowness. Would recommend for a lovely relaxing holiday.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lingmoor which had fantastic views over Lake Windermere from the front bedroom."

The property was well furnished and the kitchen had good quality utensils, crockery etc etc. Information about things to do and see was provided along with plenty of games, dvds for everyone to use. With 2 teenage grandchildren Lingmoor is a great cottage for the whole family. One suggestion would be to include that the location means climbing a very steep hill from Bowness. Kept us fit, though!

Spotlessly clean and great outdoor spaces also very quiet rd = would highly recommend but remember to bring an inhaler to get you up the hill leading to the property albeit there is an alternative route which isnt as steep

  • "Location of this property is perfect- right in the centre of Bowness 5 minutes walk from the Lake and bustle of the vibrant town, but up a short (steep) hill to a quiet and peaceful street."

The property is spacious with a large lounge and dining area, and a large kitchen with all the appliances and kitchenware needed (just couldn't find a cheese grater!). Access to outdoor areas front and rear is great for sitting out in the evenings, or morning with breakfast. Bedrooms all large and comfortable with lovely view from main room. Also nice size bathroom, and extra shower room really useful. The landing blind was difficult to work, and the television smaller than most properties these days, so just some updating there may improve, but generally one of the best properties we've stayed in.

  • "Lingmoor was perfect."

Ideal location (nb: steep hill) for us, gorgeous views and a very comfortable size. The property, especially the kitchen, had all the equipment I could have ever needed. Lots of outdoor space to relax and for the kids to play too. We have stayed in a good number of holiday homes and this is our favourite by far. We met the friendly owner briefly on arrival who had been in doing a few jobs, that the owners take care of the place was evident. We look forward to our next visit in a couple of years time when the kids are old enough to do more water sports.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are so pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay at Lingmoor, and the views! We hope to welcome you again. Thank you The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic week at Lingmoor."

The house itself is brilliant. Clean, beautifully decorated and really comfortable and homely, as well as having a fully decked out kitchen and everything you need when you’re away with your family and self catering. We also really liked the extras of books, films and games. The location is spot on - a stone’s throw from Lake Windermere and the buzzing town of Bowness but it is also set back from the town so is quiet and peaceful when you are at the house. We would definitely stay again and the property really did help us to have an amazing week in the Lakes.

  • "Love the location and size of the property space."

Kitchen and lounge is excellent and well stocked. Shows some signs of wear & tear around since we were here 12 months ago, particularly the outside areas. Location to town centre is great though the walk up the short hill is extreme. It ticks most boxes.

  • "Lovely property and a great size."

Could do with a bit of painting here and there (bannisters), and the sofa bed in the den is very stained, presumably from kids spilling drinks previously. Also, the upper part of the kids den could do with a bit of a hoover, but otherwise very well maintained. The den is great for kids, but the TV is ancient and no use to kids at all really. Without a doubt, the cleanest property we've stayed in. Could do with a bigger/newer TV downstairs and faster more stable internet

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable stay. We take your comments on board. Thank you- The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team I'm glad you liked our house and found it overall very clean. I'm sorry about the stains on the chairs in the den - unfortunately, these were caused during the weeks immediately before you came, and we were unable to clean them properly until we stayed ourselves in August and had more time than the short changeover period on a Saturday. The internet isn't the fastest, but we're near the end of the line up on the hill! It's a great location otherwise, though. Thank you for your feedback, The owner Property Owner

  • "Lingmoor was in an ideal location in Bowness and an excellent place to stay, with all the town’s amenities and the lake just a few minutes walk away."

The house was spotlessly clean and well maintained, probably the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed in! Only one minor point to mention, the shower screen in the main bathroom does have a small gap in it and a small puddle accumulates on the floor when showering, so need to make sure you mop up after you shower. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay and would go back.

  • "We had a wonderful week at the property, one of the most homely, cleanest and warmest we have ever stayed in with Lakelovers."

There was everything we needed, lounge furniture and bed very comfortable. Immaculate kitchen and bathroom, plenty of hot water. The only tiny annoyance was the sound from the adjoining house, there was lots of door slamming (inside), and running up and down stairs. There is a longer but not as steep route into Bowness centre, through Langrigge Drive, that could benefit from being included in the information folder or on the notice board in the living/dining room. I have back issues and found it much more manageable to come back up to the house that way.

I'm sorry that you felt that the house was cold, but don't understand why that should be so. I'd been in during the morning before you arrived and set the thermostat in the hallway to 20C, giving a tempeature in the living room of 22-24C, The world Health Organisation recomends a temperature of 18-24C for living spaces, and the UK 16 -18 for hallways and 20-22C for living rooms. • "A lovely large and spacious house, very well decorated with good furnishings."

Excellent fully fitted kitchen with all the utencils required. Extremely clean,(thank you to the cleaners). The reason for only 4 stars is because the leather sofa in the lounge needs attention,it is very low, some of the bottom seats have lost their fillings, therefore has no support. Both the double bed and twin beds are uncomfortable, they need new mattresses When I booked this property I asked about the hill up to the house, as I have a lung condition and can't walk up steep hills. I was assured the hill was only slight, so went ahead and reserved the property. As you can imagine, on arrival at the bottom of Brantwood Road I was shocked to see how extremely steep the hill was up to the house. This definitely needs stating in the description. Because of this we had to use the car every day when we went out, even when only going down to the lake and shops, parking was very difficult because it was so busy. Otherwise, as stated earlier the house was excellent.

I'm sorry that you felt that the gradient of the hill had been underplayed. To anyone used to scaling Lake District summits, that hill is indeed "slight", as it is short. I do understand that for you, however, that was not the case, and it was too steep for you to negotiate. We'll re-write the general description of the house to ensure that it reflects that the hill has a steep section. The brown leather sofa has not deteriorated. It was like that when we bought it, low, soft and squishy, which we find extremely comfortable, and is ideal for children. We realise that a low sofa doesn't suit everyone, and have provided a second sofa in the lounge area that is higher and more supportive. I do hope you used that sofa instead, as it should have better suited your needs. Mattresses are rather a matter of personal taste. We chose ones that suit us, and after staying at Lingmoor last week, can confirm that they are still comfortable for us. Thank you for your lovely general comments, especially about the cleanliness of the house. We'll make sure that is passed onto the cleaners. Property Owner

  • "The house was very nice but a few improvements need to be made."

The brown corner sofa is very shabby now and needs replacing. The sound on the TV keeps going quiet then back to normal. I suggest this is replaced with a smart TV which has Amazon Prime and Netflix so if guests want to log in with their own accounts they can do. I would also suggest putting a TV in the master bedroom. Apart from that the house has everything you need.
