Admire the surroundings of the cottage with breath taking views of Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in the Lake District, before you enter into the spacious open plan living room of Lowera Cottage and be welcomed by its real home from home ambiance where a charming welcome pack greets you on arrival, filled with locally sourced treats and locally handmade toiletries.

Try your hand at a spot of home-cooking by making use of the quality appliances within the sleek kitchen, including an electric oven, a halogen hob, fridge with ice-box and a dishwasher.

Delight in your dish at the well-presented dining table, before you pop open a bottle of fizz and toast to a wonderful holiday to the Lake District.

After a long walk upon the rolling hills of the National Park, you can look forward to relaxing on the sofa and flicking on the Smart TV, or simply curl up with a good book in hand or plan the next day’s hiking route.

The refreshing ambiance of the property is continued into the bedrooms, comprising of an elegantly appointed master bedroom, with plush double bed and crisp white linens to snuggle under and the single bedroom is spacious and offers contemporary hanging space.

Head into Windermere, where you will be spoilt for choice by the superb selection of pubs, restaurants and takeaways that await you, as well as a number of shops so that you will not have to travel far for your essentials.

Whilst here, hop on board a cruise to enjoy a circular trip on the historic steamers to soak up the views of the mountain scenery, secluded bays and the many wooded islands from the majestic beauty of Lake Windermere.

Those with children can look forward to visiting the World of Beatrix Potter attraction or brush up on the local history by visiting the National Trust property of Wray Castle.

Other attractions within the immediate area include Treetop Lake District, where thrill-seekers can enjoy treetop treks, or visit Bowness Bay where you can hire your own boat to explore the lake or visit the 70ft cascading waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force.

Further afield is the National Trust property of Hill Top, which is the former home of Beatrix Potter and the Lakes Aquarium, which is home to an underwater otter tunnel and stingrays.

Keen walkers can look forward to exploring the peak of Claife Heights and the famous Old Man of Coniston, with picturesque lakes views and industrial remnants.

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
