  • "A perfect, well kept cottage in a prime location for exploring the Lake Windermere area and beyond."

Very comfortable and welcoming property with everything needed to enjoy a great family break. Would definitely look to return to Nutkin Cottage for future trips to the Lake District.

The parking permit was a great help. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the shower was brilliant. We also loved having a real fire. We found the beds too soft.

Cosy and homely. Nothing missing. No issues with parking nearby (thanks also to permit provided by cottage). During stay one item broke (curtain rail), rapid response and fix in <24hr. Can't fault it for anything. Would love to come back.

  • "Nutkin cottage really feels like home from home."

It is very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is very well equipped with high end appliances. The owners have obviously given a lot of thought to holiday cottage experience, providing so many little touches which made our stay even more perfect. The cottage is also perfectly placed for exploring this incredible area. Parking can be a little tricky at times but it wasn’t a huge problem for us. We really can’t recommend Nutkin cottage enough.

  • "Wonderful cottage."

Just one small detail which did not affect our stay is the scaffolding at the front of the cottage which should have been removed as noted when we arrived was still up when we left. Everything else was perfect

Hi Denise, Glad you liked the cottage and hope you had a great stay. Sorry about the scaffolding, we had new double glazed windows installed and despite all my efforts they didn't take the scaffolding down for a couple of weeks afterwards, all gone now i'm glad to say. • "Cottage was very cold would of been nice to have it warmed up on arrival."

Apart from that couldn’t fault it .

Hi Nicola, I'm sorry that the cottage was cold on arrival. This shouldn't happen as someone should come out prior to each guest arriving and check all is in order, put the heating and lights on. So i'm sorry that this didn't happen but will chase up and i hope you enjoyed your stay. Best Regards, Keith and Suzanne. Property Owner

  • "Great place to stay."

Only negative being that the two single beds in the smaller room were extremely uncomfortable, poor mattresses, hence the lower rating for overall comfort. The bed in the main room is extremely comfortable and an upgrade in the other room would make Nutkin Cottage perfect.

Hi Derek, thanks for your feedback, i hope you had a good stay. Its been a little while since i slept on the single beds. I'm going to get those renewed next weekend in readiness for Christmas. Thanks Keith Property Owner

  • "Exactly as described."

Nice terrace property on a quiet side street with resident parking (permit provided so no parking issues). Great location, in fact a perfect location. End of street is a Italian, chinese and Pizzaria, down the street a little further and you’re in heart of town. Property was very clean, comfortable, quiet (great sleep) and a very powerful shower above bath. Gas fire in front lounge and log burner in back dining room with a cosy two seater couch and high back chair (plus dining table). We had a nice afternoon in there with fire on, relaxing and playing games (lots of family games provided). Overall we had a great stay and I really could not fault it, perfect for a short break, self catering family/party of four. Thanks you

The cottage itself was well equipped, everything you would need was there. Comfortable bed, very hard to get out of. If it was my home I wouldn’t change a thing. The cottage is situated not far from the lake. Perfect in every way. Just be aware it gets busy at the weekend so parking outside might be difficult but there are lots of places just a short walk away. Thank you Keith and Family for a memorable stay.

  • "Our first time in bowness on Windermere and Nutkin cottage and can honestly say they both far exceeded expectations!"

From the moment we walked through the door of the cottage into the first of two cosy snugs the cottage forced us to relax! It was simply perfect in every way! Every home comfort is there and the attention to detail, we didn’t have to go hunting to find anything in the cottage, everything was just where it should be. Super comfortable beds, bathroom was lovely with freestanding bath and an amazing shower! Kitchen had everything we could have needed or wanted. The most perfect of cottages, literally at the end of the small terrace is the Main Street but you would never know as the cottage was so quiet and peaceful. The perfect stay! Would highly recommend Nutkin Cotttage! We will be back

In addition to the front room, the back (dining) room can also be used for relaxing with cosy armchairs by the wood burning stove. Nicely decorated and you'll have a lovely stay. You just have to be quick with the parking, which is by permit. You might have to park on a different road at first until you can snag a space on the right road.

Beautifully decorated! Had everything we needed. Had a really lovely holiday and would stay again. However it was disappointing that there is no provided recycling at the cottage. Have to take it all up to the supermarket in windermere and they don't recycle tins/cans or glass so ended up taking a big bag of recycling home with us at the end of the holiday! Duvet and pillows on the bed not the comfiest. Otherwise all lovely.
