  • "The Nutkins was not that clean as the floors are not clean and tidy."

Even the kitchen utensils are very dirty. Not hygienic at all. I will not prefer such a unhygienic place for stay. Anyways overally we were whole day outside the Nutkins so we adjusted somehow. Thank you

Nutkins Location is overall the best bit about the accommodation sitting right in the town. Nutkins was clean and cozy perfect for romantic weekend. We would definitely stay at nutkins again.

  • "What a great little apartment to stay in, right in the middle of Bowness."

The boiler was not working when we arrived, so no heating or hot water. Two phone calls later and we were told an engineer would be coming out to look it that evening. As we were going out for a meal we left the key in the safebox and when we got back the problem was sorted, very good work especially on a Friday evening. Would recommend the apartment as a great place to stay.

  • "Fantastic location in Bowness, close to the lake, shops and lot of lovely pubs and restaurants."

Apartment itself was as expected, cosy and comfortable, lovely bed, good facilities and nice view from the front. I would think it may be a bit cramped for four adults though, two adults absolutely fine and one or two children. It was great to have the parking permit included which you can use in quite a few car parks in the area and the office to collect it is just around the corner. Only slight complaint was that the heating was a bit of a pain, seemed like the only options were freezing cold or boiling hot, no thermostat to be seen and the hot water coming out the taps was scalding, not very safe for little ones. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay, thank you.

  • "This accommodation has an excellent position in Bowness."

It is nice and close to walks, the lake and shops and restaurants. We have had a lovely week. Nutkins is good for 2 people and is a comfortable apartment. We did have a bit of an issue with the heating though as this only seems to be off or very hot. No temperature regulator. We would use Sykes again.

  • "We initially had trouble finding the cottage, as the sat nav just took us to the general area."

We could have done with better description of the whereabouts of the cottage from the Sykes office. We walked around looking for the place for over an hour and had to make 3 calls back to the office (one went to head office, where the girl had no local knowledge, one was unanswered and on the third we were given a description of how to get to the apartment). Simple directions like - it’s above the Mere gallery, go up the alley between that and the sports shop and it’s directly on the left -would have saved a lot of trouble as it wasn’t apparent from the main road where the apartment was. Once we eventually got in, we were very happy with the apartment. It was a good size and very comfortable with all the home comforts. All the local amenities were within a short walk away. We will definitely stay here again.

  • "The location of Nutkins was really good - right in the centre of Bowness-on-windermere near restaurants, cafes and shops."

This did however mean more traffic noise and we had restaurant workers making noise in the early mornings when they got home from work (from 1-3am which was really quite annoying). The apartment itself wasn’t as clean as I would on bed and couch etc. The floor boards creeked throughout this entire apartment. Another annoyance was that the windows at the front did not open, so it was quite hot in the afternoons and there was no fan provided. It would have been nice if little things were provided such as hand soap and dishwashing liquid - we did not think to bring those things and it was a pain to have to go out and buy them. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but it definitely could have been better.

A great location to explore Bowness and Windermere, with Lake Windermere itself only a short walk down the hill. Close to a number of restaurants and bars/ pubs. Extremely comfy bed. We can't wait to come back for our next visit.
